CF,

thank you smile:)

well, if you've got about $350,000 you can print on foil, or just about anything else smile:)

i like your old cloth. good weave, good color and i like that you put some curves in the weave just like cloth would have. looks like burlap.

That would be some expensive gift wrapping!!!

Its kinda a burlap cloth. I am also tring for papyrus paper kind of look also. I have that one down fairly decent but not quite there. I will post when its there. Also theres some more old papers floating about.
Just how to work them in is the question. Which ones to use and how to make the filter not an overwhelming process to use...

Nice... it's quite convincing.

I'd use two distort tiles to create a more random 'wavey' texture. Reduce the 'wave' a little bit and with the second influence it should be sufficiently random to pass as a natural material.

Also, if you haven't already, mess with 'remapping' that can make complex interactions easier.

You should put a scan of some egyptian artwork through that filter.

Nice work Kraellin.

Bongo - I love the 'more examples' image. Nice filter.

CFandM - great filter! That'll make a nice treasure map, I reckon smile:D

Here's why I love FF: I can make the textures I used to have to scour the Internet for hours to find - and it takes about as long, but I get an almost infinite selection with FF.

Here's a new tile texture I've been working on. Apply the bump map as a displacement map, and you've got yourself a roof:

smile:) If it were legal, I'd marry FF.

The only trouble with this is I have to remember where I put the treasure to make the map to it. Hmm..

Thanks I hoped it would be close.

I may not be able to do a lot of cloths on one filter. It may have to be in a span of a couple of filters. This one is not finished yet but here it is so far. Only that one cloth so far but has some color variation in the cloth and the image.

well... five cloths at least. smile:)

make five complete setups, and use the 'scale' and other controllers for each of the five setups, then simply switch between setups with an interface based 'style switch'

I had originally planned it out a bit to use five cloths then use a switch component and slider to switch to the different cloths.

Then I thought it would be cool to be able to scale the cloth both horizonal and vertical independent of each other. Since I am at the slider limit without the switch I may have to just scale horizonal and vertical together with one slider leaving one open for the cloth selector switch. smile:)

Well I deceided to use one slider for the horizonal and vertical scale.
It actually works not bad I can now cover the whole image along with just a little bit of the image. Heres another sample the whole image this time.

CF and M,
COOL! Just add fringes to the top and bottom and you've got yourself a lap blanket. smile;)

Good ideal. I will have to use that for Old Cloth 2. Unless I can work that into the first one somehow. I will see what I can do with that.

bongo, wet glass? hmmm, it's supposed to look like foil. may have to revisit that one then.

mike, thank you smile:)
and very cool on the shingles filter!

CF, adding those two sliders seems to have added more depth to the weave. not sure that was a good thing. i suppose, though, you can always turn the sliders way down.

ok, here's one from a filter i havent submitted yet. it actually wasnt designed with this effect in mind, but i thought it was kind of cool when i happened to apply it to this photo.

the photo is from patriciakay and can be found on retouchpro.com in the photo art area: http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/show...hp?t=13950

It may be just that there are no edges on the last image so it may be just an optical thing. Or second leave it so the user can only go so far as far as scaling. Leaving the other as another filter by itself. I liked the cloth fragments only.

Mike: I like that roof tex. I don't know why it reminds me of Super Mario for Nitendo 64. Nice work.

I will agree with you on this. The time it would take to find some texs that are either good enough to use or something that even fits in what you are doing one could create or find a filter that could produce more.
Better looking texs in some cases also. smile;)

Craig, feel free to post anything that fits under the forum title -- images, WIPs, renders, links, game screens etc. I'm not sure about nudity though smile:)

Regarding this thread: let's keep it here for a while to make sure that people who post here know about the new forum.
