yeah, i like the pattern filters, too. but, i dont submit very many of them because i always go, 'well, it's pretty, but who's ever going to use it for anything?' If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

this is from a filter called 'fun with math'. it's not a true plastic type and it's not a true wax type. it seems to be somewhere in the middle of the two.

The first one is interesting with the roughness in the background. Did you use a selection for that? I also like the last one; looks like an old sketch or ink drawing.

these arent all from my original filters. i think most are from mods of other's stuff. i think the black and white was a combo of one of mine and someone else's. and the last one was from a mod of revoye's. the 2nd was all mine and the third was again a mod. one of the beauties of FF is that we can learn from others, especially within the editor. and of course we get to rip off steve's stuff without any guilt whatsoever
oh, and no selections, indigo... all filter. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

this is from a mod of benbeckwith's "puffy" filter, found in the creative section of the filter library. i've sped it up a bit and changed the effect a bit. to me, it seems a bit more 'puffy' but it loses some of the depth of his filter. still, i like the effect of both.

steve, yeah, maybe, but that's not what i'm going for on this one. i like the effect ben did to begin with just for what it is, and i've now modded his original some more and have spit out some more images. i've changed a few more things and added some limits on parameters, but also allowed some other parameters to be changed. the overall effect is some interesting textures, even though i'm using it so far with imported images. ben did a nice job with this. i'm just tweaking here and there to change it up a bit. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

ok, back to rock, dirt, earth... or was that earth, wind and fire? anyways, i did these with beta 3, but didnt really use any of the new beta 3 stuff on it, so i'm posting down here rather than in the beta 3 gallery. i kind of like these. i can see them both as wall types or ground types.

someone bumped up the noise lab thread, so i made a new noise filter in FF3. there's some samples in the 'creating filters' forum, but i'm coming back here with any more.
this one is from the same filter as the ones posted in the 'creating filters' thread, but with a few more tweaks to it.  If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
