ok, time for an update!

these are all fr om "the monster", an unpublished filter. this is a filter i call a "multifilter". it's "multi" because it produces literally billions of different effects, both photographic and textural, though the texture portion is pretty lim ited. i started producing multifilters years ago. this tends to go against the grain of what a good filter is. most good filters concentrate on a fairly specific effect or texture, or at least a small range within a certain concept of effect. a multifilter is exactly opposite. its purpose is to create as many wild varieties as possible. you plug together a ton of different components, save the whole mess, then punch up the random button and save a ton of presets. "the monster" currently has 556 presets. it got its name, obviously, from the giant number of components it uses. i cant even easily count how many, but i often bog down in the editor when looking at this filter.

i use this filter primarily to experiment. the range of stuff produced is quite wild and i've created many filters based on the effect i produce in "the monster". one of the advantages of this type of filter is that once i save a preset, i can go back into the editor and call up that preset and then track down the exact routine which produced it and spawn a new filter based on that routine. this can be quite handy!

this is from a filter I modded heavily, Alien Building Materials. I don't recall who made the original, but thanks it's a pattern filter with LOTS of options. also, I seem to have forgotten the image limits on importing pics here and I'm having trouble getting things to load, so if this comes out very small, pixelated or blurred, don't be surprised.

the combinations of possibilities are nearly endless on these.
