Only took me eight years to figure this one out.

Not Loop 3D, but 6 planes transformed into place with rotations and offsets, so it is almost real-time.

A single angle control rotates the whole thing around the center y-axis.

Now I can retire.

Map Switch component came in very handy for keeping the faces depth sorted as you rotate.

But what about a different image for each face? Or shading that varies with rotation? Or depth perspective? Or...

(now the hammer smiley is appropriate. Or maybe a hammer smashing me.)

Great work. I love the transparency of the last example. Takes me back to my old 3D modeling days on a SGI workstation.

Everything but depth perspective is easy enough, that will be the challenge for the next eight years. Of course it could be done with a script, but that's cheating.

Hi Everyone,

This looks great ThreeDee, I agree the transparency is a cool feature!
I do hope it doesn't take eight years..smile:?:

Submitted the Image Cube to the library.

The controls are pretty basic, but I couldn't figure out which way to develop this, so I thought I'd let it loose, in case someone comes up with some fun derivative from it.

Good news, and thanks very much for making it and sharing it, who else other than ThreeDee could be able to make such awesome and amazing 3D cube with images and transparency and furthermore be able to ROTATE it ?

I admire your work and nearly always amazes me what you can do and the huge experience you have with FF

Is a great pity that the lat post from ThreeDee on this thread was from 4 years ago on April 2016, as he is able to do really unique, special, amazing and wonderful things as shown on this thread, and I miss it much

ThreeDee,

Way back in 2009. you said:

you can use the Maximum Level and Minimum Level Components and plug them into the same inputs of a Levels Component.

If you want to do this to something you created in FF, it gets trickier.

I think this is what Sphinx mentioned was possible in the Auto Levels by Channel by ThreeDee thread. I asked for clarification, but you might be able to answer this one for me, too. What is the tricky part of doing what you suggested above to an FF creation?

Edit: I found the thread where all of this is explained, so thanks for reading, if you have, but you don't have to address the question unless you want to elaborate on something.
