I've been working on an eyeball texture filter... I'd like to say it's 'done', but I'm sure I'll tweak it some more. I know eyeballs have been done before, but hey... noone else called them meyeballs... smile;)

the shot is from an eye i'm using in an animation project... it was built in Blender3d.

dont know how far along you are with this but my recent submisions of
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1928.html
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1909.html
http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1905.html
might help
especially the last one spokinator You could easily set up the jagged circles in the iris this way and then for the curve use either perpective method

You should be able to do that relativly simple then smile:)

I started a prototype of this last night for the pupil and iris It was actually quiet simple I used a ring based perspective distort (how the center of the gradient is lighter than the inside and outside ring) and a spoke distort for the lines

Looked just like and iris I didnt try the rest of the eye ball but it definatly is dooable

Look forward to seeing your filter when its done smile:)

Thanks for the positive replies. This filter was my first 'big' project after getting filter forge. I'm pretty happy with the way I have it put together and working, but voldemort, I may use some of your snippets and rebuild it.

Why would you say the noise selection 'doesn't look right' on that last eye? It would look "right" if you were, or knew a creature that had eyes like that... and I'm making one smile;) Seriously though, I like the way it looks... and I didn't want to be limited to making "realistic" looking eyes... then I'd just be ripping off god

smile:) glad you like em... I may not upload this filter since I'm still constantly tweaking it (and playing with it myself). Besides, there are others already, and I'm sure there will be more.

There's only what 1 or 2 other eyeball filters, and this one looks both as good as, and different, from them. I say upload it unless you don't want people to have it for whatever reason, especially if you want to work on earning a free copy of FF. smile:)

There's this one, but meyendless' work has more appeal for my tastes. Do polish, and submit... smile:)

That one by eyesee is cool... I checked it out briefly after working on mine for a couple weeks. It was actually one of the reasons I haven't submitted mine. I kinda figured people would be happy playing with that one. I've been thinking about submitting it, but it's really something I made to have fun with, and as I said I'm not really 'done' with it. For now I'm going to keep it, but I will consider submitting if I get it to where I'm happy with it. At the moment the controls are a bit messy, and I'm thinking of adding some features to it...
