I'ma try and finish this one up and submit it tonight, or over the weekend for sure. The pic shown is just "random", in that you can't really shape it very much. Just bored and doing a sneak preview, yeah, that bored ha-ha. smile:D

----Cool, glad yer still having at that 3-D technique, I think yer getting places with it, at least now that you've got it slimmed down more. Someday, the makers of that old Viewmaster toy may sue ya ha-ha.

----Thanks, not sure how it came up with that particular shape, but most of my stuff is set up to make random asymetrical type designs, and that *snail* looking thing fits the bill better than I usually manage ha-ha. smile:)

----I'ma go take another run through the presets and see if I can find anything to add or tweak. I'll try and just post version 1 of it tonight anyways, so anyone who gets as bored as me over the weekend can check it out. Thanks for the bumps guys. smile:)

O.k., I submitted it just now at 8:27pm PST, so it should get listed for Friday. It's called "Baroque Metal", and will be listed under "Frames", even though it does other shapes, it tends towards a lot of framed designs etc. If anybody uses it and makes any images, be sure and post the good ones for us to see eh. smile:)

Hmm, there were no new filters posted today, that's weird. Well, at least it wasn't just mine that got left off. smile:D

I imagine that animated, liquid metallic... would look awesome. I have a certain positive predisposition to the word "Baroque", so I'm all too happy you're using it — and for a frame, no less! I like frame effects a lot to accent existing textures.

jffe, I agree with Kraellin, this 'IS' really cool!!! The 3D effect is amazing with the shadows seeming to be in each openning....

i've got a name for you too, jffe... 'Vortex' or 'Metal Vortex'. reminds me of a tornado looking at it from the top down.

Good point, now that you mention it, I see it too! Guess it's just one of those thing that's interpretable depending on the viewer (actually, that pretty much encompasses the existence of art), ahahha ^_^ Guess if it's extruding out, then it's a snail shell, and if it intruding inward, then it's a vortex, kinda' funny how you can see both.

----It doesn't work so much on that snail/conch shell looking main preset, but on the others, try checking the *Surface Map Invert* box. I usually put one of those on any surface/3-D filter I make, it's just an invert module with an on/off before the height input on the output module. You can flip/adjust the inward/outward edging of the shape(s) then. It doesn't always work exactly like it seems it should, but it can definitely offer a bit of a change of perspective regardless.
----Anyways, thanks for the bumps people, and feel free to post pics of any weird shapes you come up with using it. smile:)

----That sounds more like something CF could do justice to, or maybe he can take this one and make it swirlier and more vortexing ha-ha, he's the swirl ninja or jedi or whatever, and I'm sure he could do a proper vortex. smile:)
