here's one that is from a filter i just made. it's very loosely, remotely related to 'the little monster'. i'm still toying with this one. lots of possibilities and not sure where i'm going yet, but liked this one image smile:)

this is from the same filter with a few changes. oh, and the original image is my rose pic.

edit: and ALL the white is actually transparent in the filter.

the kaleidoscope was already there. i just made it more prominent.

i'm using 2, 5 color gradients in this one...or was. now just using one. i wanted more variety in the colors, so i replaced one with an image component. may do both.

this one has me puzzled a bit and i hope it shows the same thing here now as a .jpg. if you look at this one for a bit, you may see something a bit 3d about it. and the central object also seems to shimmy a bit. i may have to go back to anaglyphs.

Your right, it fakes the eye out. Was this part of the effect from CF's 3D glasses?

Cool filter Kraellin
Yep it tricks the eyes..glad you came accross that. Its fun to see what other color combos work with what. I was playing with that for a while.even before the 3d stuff.....Don't know what the technical term for that is aside from "Wow that looks cool!"
I used this eye trickery for Painted Anaglyph Glass..There is depth without the 3d glasses using the color combos that trick the eyes...
I know red and blue on top of each other are like that...Violet and grey...
Try this..You can see how they look together..Sometimes other colors will do the same if you have the main colors in the image...

well, i'm glad it showed up and that others can see it. i dont quite understand it. and i do still see a bit of shimmy too, but not as much in this compressed version. i can sort of cock my head and turn it a bit and cross my eyes slightly and almost get rid of it to see it as 2d again.

that's an interesting study, CF. in that 2nd filter the blue stands out nicely from the red. quite interesting. and the pink and gray is just weird, almost like the pink is on top and then the gray and sometimes the inside pink is higher than the gray while the gray is higher than the outside pink, sort of strangling the pink inside. fascinating, isnt it. i wonder if there isnt some sort of relationship to the wavelengths across the spectrum and that that could be mapped or even graphed.

and no, steve. this didnt come out of the anaglyph stuff. it came from the same filter as the others in this thread, which is another reason it surprised me when i saw it.

and carl, i was thinking of christmas wrapping paper while making some of these, although i didnt post any of the ones showing that in a stronger way.

There might be but I have never checked that far into it..At one time I was going to
take a week or so and go through the colors and figure out which colors would work with other colors..But then I just ended up doing something else then forgot about it.

Maybe this is releated to why the certain colors work with the eyes and Anagylphs.

well, when i click on it i get the options to 'find', 'save' or 'cancel'. i hit 'find' and it told me it's a power point file extension. i dont have power point. so, do i just save it and hope it runs when i double click it from windows explorer?

Try saving then open/run.....

Bummer..... there must be a way.... I believe that it is a self-running file from the internet without having to have PowerPoint.....but seems like I have that wrong. Well, if you find a way to view it, I think that it would set off your gears in motion with ideas.....

Hey Craig, Jmicheal's "Op Art Creation" uses some of it. For example, the lead preset is perfectly parellel, but it appears not to be parellel at all from the manipulation of tone and colorization. Very interesting.....
