Just loaded to the Gallery~ so won't be there for 24 hours.

It's called Metallic Emboss. Maps the image color and contour then turns it metallic. (Example image made with the filter attached.)

Not sure but I think the forum may or may not have been trying to figure this out. Pretty sure you'all have this figured out already?

If anyone wants the file early just let me know.

I really like it.....kinda like a metallic flake texture relief smile:) I don't think that it has been done. I made one like it for my own personal use, but I never submitted it.....for fear that any more metal filters would get me bannished for having a metal obsession..... smile:) LOL.....

TY Kraellin and Stevie J~

Stevie... ROFL on the metal ban. hahaha. Metal is addictive~

I had made some others and took them in other directions so I am aware it can be done various ways. The other layouts were using the image to map the metallic but it wasn't' adhering like I wanted it to. This one sticks on the image like Velcro and used tone maps verses the heavier alpha mapping in the prior attempts. Going from memory because I've been making other filters since creating this one. ((Memory don't fail me now)). smile:D

Anyway here is the filter file- should be in my Gallery by now though. It's a tad on the chaotic side- as far as the tree goes but I think it's one of those effects where you can look at it and say to yourself... "oh yea... of course". A light bulb went off when I made it and don't know why I didn't do this on the other tries to make the metallic adhere.

And StevieJ... I love your metallic obsession. I know what you mean though because I made Gold Weave (named for when applied on a solid white background)- best applied on Moon Cheese. smile:D And then made the 'metallic emboss' one ... and after that I purposfully went off the metallic filters because I didn't want to get labled 'a metal head'. hehehehahaha Love the metals though.

I know this feeling well.....I've been blinded by all the lightbulbs going off lately.....jumping all over the place to different filters.....and doing a good job of totally confusing myself most of the time. I usually end up starting a good filter idea.....then get sidetracked onto another idea before finishing the first.... smile:)

LOL I hear ya.

The paints not dry on one filter project before another idea starts working for the next one.

I have 14 days left on my trial so ... I may only have 14 days left to share filters before I have to wait to afford the program. (Little girl needs glasses and summer clothes, house, mortgage, taxes and a travel visit to see Mom). ((Still on my 30 day trail- but I know filters and graphics so I pull from that knowledge when creating the filters)). FF has a layout with the components that make it very easy to find what you need. It's an amazing program.

Hi Kreallin,

I love the image!~ About the filter- similar to Flaming Pears Blade Pro now Super Blade Pro in that the effect depends on the image the application is applied to. I did try a red Holly Hock (from my yard last year) and noticed the effect for me was almost more like glass. I'll attach and you can see why I decided not to use it as an example image. However I'm thinking the effect may not work as well on red images. ((You made it work by shifting settings because your a pure genius,,, *wink*... but for the basic user red images may not work so well.

Also remember about this filter is that other filters like Ron Viers Lab Enhance work well on top of it.

Going to attach the Holly Hock - now I didn't play with settings because I was testing to see what the filter produces with straight presets (the testing phase). I believe it does have an application of Lab Enhance on top of the basic filter though.

(((Thanks for testing the filter out- it's gorgeous the way you have it on the Rose))).
