Cool!!! It's kinda like when strands of fabric are pulled out leaving strands in one direction..... #1 and #3 are awesome!!! smile:)

After another look, I still don't know what to call it.....maybe something like.....Random Weave, Rough Weave, Deteriorating Fabric.....

i think i'd like this one better if you could contain and control that pattern a bit more. like in #2 and 3 if the pattern didnt go out to the sides of the cup and in #2 at the top.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Thanks for the feedback, here are some (different I think) presets with just the life preserver, to maybe give a better idea of what it looks like ? I still dunno what it looks at all like, or even what else to do with it.

I think the last image is the best! Looks awesome, it is a useful effect and unique. I am curious, how did you come up with this filter? Very cool.

----Still working on it, but it's just more or less an experiment gone halfway right ha-ha. One of the first times that a filter based on "self offsetting" has turned out looking at all decent for me. I'll try and get some new examples up tomorrow.
