((She's Alive)) smile:D

---------------------

About this filter:

Skin Softener is a filter that airbrushes the photo.

Softens the skin tones and creates a softer overal ambience.

Use this filter under other filters after you've smoothed out the image or use by itself to airbrush the image. Subtle enough to fool the eye into thinking the photo was not filtered yet strong enough to make a quality difference in the photo.

Adds natural lighting on some presets.

Romantically enhances photos or creates a softer nostaglic setting.

10 Presets Included

Settings Include:

Chemical Wash
Soften
Toner
------------------------------------------

I got the idea for this filter when I was working on the Alien Vision testing thread. This filter is an overall airbrush. Softens the skin yes, but it also airbrushes the entire image.

I've been using it on the recent Zoo pics taken this week and it's a handy filter to have.

This filter is on the way to the library.

The difference is subtle however VERY effective when looking for a softener that does not overwhelm the image.

are you using any masking with this, jean, or does it airbrush the entire image?

Good Morning~ smile:D

Here is the download URL http://www.filterforge.com/filters/3543.html

(((Thanks Lynn))) I can't wait till you try it~ smile:D

(((Hey Kraellin))) smile:D

The filter airbrushes the entire image. Open it up and take a look. What I did was blend a sublte distortion with a subtle blur among other things, but the distortion combination is what creates the soften effect. ((You have to see the guts to understand but when you do take a look you'll say... "oh,,, okay", LOL.

Like I said in the first post... I was working on Alien Vision when I came up with the idea for the skin softener filter. And with the Alilen Vision idea I had been blending distoritions with blurs... hope that makes sense now.

So Kraellin... you like? smile:D

jean, of course i like. i was just trying to determine if i could use this for retouching as opposed to only photo art. some folks get very sensitive about using any kind of blurring on retouching.

Hi Stevie~ smile:D smile:ff: Softens but still retains detail~

I don't have my favorite digital camera anymore... this is a new camera. It's going back today. For Zoo pics I used an HP M417 (Digital). Going back tonight to trade it for another when hubby gets home. (Rent to buy). The guy at the store offered to let me look thru the catalog if I didn't like this one. (Hubby picked it out and brought it home... and the HP was the only one they had in the store at the time).

Hi Kreallin~ smile:D Blur yes but not a blur filter. Have you tried it yet? On a photo? It's not photo art (it's not strong enough for photo art). I've use it for retouching. To be honest I tested it only on photos and wasn't thinking about photo art. However I did test it for two weeks prior to release. (((Glad you like!!!))) Try for retouching and let me know how it works for you.
