I was thinking of developing this concept into 3D glass shapes.....3D textured shapes (kinda like dilla's sphere examples, but not quite as good).....3D perspective depths......

Hmmmmm.....point source lighting would be nice for this smile:devil:

Jean!!! You have the distinction of being the only "luva" of this effect smile:D .....or you are just too kind to see it go on without any responses to it smile;) smile:D LOL.....

Either way, you are the best!!! smile:) smile:) smile:)

I love this filter too, in all honesty I think that all of your filters are armed to the teeth with usefulness; I have just stoped commenting because you just keep coming up with more and more cool effects, I can't keep up. And I am getting tired of saying "this is my favorite filter of yours to date" but this is my favorite filter of yours to date. I like the clean clear feel of the glass.

Good job, can't wait for the submission of this beauty. smile:D

Ohhh, I was just looking at this again and have a request for this filter, can you make it so we have the option of negating all the picture except the glass orb? That would be useful to me.

That's one of the reasons why I post samples and submit filters.....for feedback and to soak up positive reinforcement like a dry sponge smile:)

This really is quite nice, StevieJ!

I thought at first, when I came into the forum to poke about (something I haven't done yet), that you had already posted this up for download... but I guess not smile:?:
This could prove to be a filter I would use endlessly for all sorts of projects I have sitting around waiting for that 'just right' filter effect smile:D

Hope you will share it with us soon smile;)

Thanx Foxxee, glad you like it smile:) I haven't posted it yet.....having trouble getting the "size, pixels" control to just increase/decrease the size of a single ball.....thought it would be easy, but it's not smile:cry: smile:)

Okay, Ahimsa and Jean, is there an emocon package that will work from your browser.....that will allow you to plop them in the middle of sentences???

I don't think there is. I have the one from Smiley Central that will do it in emails though. I have just been using the attach file thing. Maybe there is a way to upload them somewhere and then add them as images here?

PS...I left a link for a zip containing a lot of these. If you go here, you can get the program that has all these and many more http://today.smileycentral.com/smiley...YYYYYYMSUS

You can insert these into an email and then save the email as a web page and all the smilies will be in a folder then. Saves time.

Hehe, just put up a 3 Stooges Smiley in my Pearls & Beads post!
Guess we both thought of sending StevieJ this link, Ahimsa... only when I insert a smiley I also get a link included. How did you get them in without the link showing in your message?

looks like you used the frame component and refraction
I wonder if any one can figure out a way to fix the flipped diffuse on the outskirts with that technique

I might take a stab at finding a solution Im wondering if the same technique I used to regress an effect for my linear step tile can be used to undo sections of the refraction to fix the offset on the outskirts

Ill let you know If I make any progress on that might come in handy for this
Just off the top of my head you could us an offset to compensate thats how I got the rotated effect with my distort
image ball
I wonder if you did a offset for after the refraction to the selected outskirts you should be able to flip the image back into allignment

I put them all into an email, then save the email as a complete web page. There will be a folder on your desktop or wherever you saved to that will have them all in there without the link.

Actually, I just used tile, kaleidoscope, and refraction. I think you might find it interesting how I bypassed all the grad, offset, and all but one curve to get this....

The edges were bad because I had refraction jacked up too high.....I toned it down and it took care of it.....

Yeah, this has definitely reminded me alot of your work.....

actually What I was reffering to was keeping the tile aspect but correcting the edge orientation I think it would look great to see it tiled over the surface instead of a single mapping --but the oriantation ends up wrong using a beveled gradient & a refraction component that way so I was speculating on manners in wich you could retain the tile but remove the incorect orientation by the edges

Looks great either way

Ah, your right, the orientations are wrong.....especially noticable at the bottom. Yeah, I'll try that to see if it will correct it.....

Volde, is there a way to keep the tile and kaleidoscope components from being effected by the "size, Pixels" control.....because I only want it to effect the size of one ball???

It's done, but I'm trying to figure a way to use the "size, pixels" control only to adjust the size of one ball.....almost there......probably submit it tonight smile:)

It's me being anal about submitting it with the "Size, pixels" control breaking the effect.....but hopefully Volde knows how to fix it smile;) smile:)

Thanx, here's a simplified snippet of it with an added frame component to show what I'm trying to do. I want the "size, pixels" control to adjust the size of a single ball and border.....and not create a grid of balls.....but the feedback so far is that it can't be done because there's no way to lock the tiles and kaleidoscope components.....

Weird distortion filter with 20 presets smile:) BUT this filter does not make a crystal ball as shown on the first post, or I do not know how to make it and use the filter to make this.
