This is beautiful, Jffe. Photo filters are super for all other sorts of images too. I would like to add this to my library smile:D

Oh, on top of one of StevieJ's patterned glass with a rose pic... now that would be gorgeous! smile;)

I think I can see a faint grid in it, but I'm not quite sure..... smile:)

----Thanks. smile:) It was an idea I came up with last week, and it took me an hour or two to pull it off at all over the weekend. I was going for something kinda different, but I did manage to get part of what I wanted in a different way. The wiring to make it work just didn't seem very logical to me, so it took way longer than it should've since I hadda just keep trying components/values til it looked like it was working. smile:D

----Ha-ha, no, that would be from rendering it at 50% to save file space or something, check the .jpg filenames, pretty much gives it away if ya can't see it straight off. smile:D

----So can you name the effect, and/or tell the difference between the 2 sample pics then ? smile:D

Well actually jffe it reminds me of my 'skin softener (air brush filter)...

I can see the difference between the samples. When working on a photo that you like, sometimes you just want a little enhancment without distorting or changing the photo. In the comments I show my skin softerner filter applied... see my husbands skin... http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...ssage24854

Subtle fitlers are very nice when working on photos! smile:D

You did good!~ Very useful filter~ smile:D

It's the first of the 2 I really like the effect from. It seems to be eminating a sort of inner glow that's very attractive to what could be some lovely effects on moody pictures smile:D

----That would probably be the blur part I'm thinking. smile;)

----Well, not being into wedding photos/high school yearbook type shots, or fantasy pics that need weird lighting/blurring, a skin softener is the last thing I thought I'd ever make ha-ha. And it's really secondary to the concept behind the filter, I could add whatever, in this case, I thought a blur would maybe show it off best. smile:D

----The *Inner* part is correct for the first example. smile:D

----I think I'm going to add a bypass switch if I can, to offer just the one look, without any of the coloring/lightening stuff added along the way. I'm planning to submit it Thursday, so I can be lazy and call that my new filter this week and mess with it some more, and so maybe some people can see it over the weekend. smile:p

----Well, I didn't really intend for there to be a prize ha-ha, but umm, since this filter won't be up for another day or three, I submitted another one tonight (it's way different, and bears no resemblance to this one at all). I still need to go in and do the boring stuff and try and bypass some parts of this one, and a make a simple_effect switch for it, cause I'm thinking some photographic people might wanna use it, and they won't probably appreciate my creative color/lighting crapola ha-ha. smile:D

WoW! Sounds promising... thanks Jffe smile;)
I also know the answer to the second pic you have... the glow encircles it rather than comes from within smile:D

----You got it. Unfortunately, I couldn't just put an *invert* component in the mix to reverse them like that, hadda be done manually ha-ha. smile:D

Really? Wonder why you can't. I like invert components, it's like having a single On/Off switch smile:D
So how would I'd manually switch it if I wanted to see what one effect would look like against another with the same image?

----*Invert* often does work to reverse an effect, ya just can't blend/fade something with it, then invert it with one switch, not for a smooth blending effect, not like a slider control can give you. In this case, I used a slider control for the blending and a mode switch to reverse the areas effected, but it wasn't an *invert* switch, you can look inside it and see the trick when it's posted on Friday. smile:)

Ahhh, thanks for explaining that to me, Jffe. I was thinking that maybe I'd have to do something outside of using your filter to get both effects... (whew!) smile;)
Ok then... will wait for it to come out smile:D

----No, you just check a box for inner, or outer, you get both fx in one filter, just not via an *invert* module ha-ha. smile:) I also updated it again (V3 before it's released ha-ha) it now has gamma/lighten bypass, you can get the effect without ANY of the gamma/lighten-ing effect now with a checkbox also.
