A filter I've been playing with and working on for awhile now.
I've been trying to find a way to get a real feeling of lift for otherwise flat images, and I think I may have got it... I'm pleased anyway
And it's a good excuse to keep the forums alive too ~Foxxee~

Thanks, I'm real happy with it. I've been trying it out even on some of your patterns, especially the Country Craft ones and they are really fun to play with this way

that one of 'country crafts' really stands out. i'll be interested in seeing what you did. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I'm real glad you guys like it
Thanks Carl. Hope you all realize I'm only using your filters as examples of what mine can add to some already nice filters... not make better
Craig, it's the one filter I've created that uses only 5 simple components and 5 user tools for color, light and height! And it is supper fast in it's render too. I'm really happy with it. I need to thank you too for helping me with all your suggestions. Having kept them tucked away in an FF folder for later reference has been a lot of help to me
I'm glad you like him, Steve, me too
The stone floor was what I noticed first while testing this, and a little more playing around I was able to get the little fella look like he might jump right off the page, hehe.
Thanks for all your nice feedback guys, I really appreciate it
p.s. to Steve... if you are still curious about my forum name, I use to have a little red dog with a black muzzle like a fox, so calling him foxxee was fitting to me. He was killed by a neighbor poisoning him 30 years ago... so I like using the name because he was a very sweet yet very protective little buddy of mine
Ok... end of story (sniff) ~Foxxee~

Me too, on the first half
I've always been a soft-hearted animal lover, but I've also played with Daddy Long Legs and Pill Bugs, and I had a pet Garden Snake once who gave live birth (no eggs) to about 20 little adorable babies, hehe. But I let them all go in a field, I had no idea how to feed them, and I don't think snakes nurse their young ones... at least I couldn't see any possible proof of that

I like snakes, but I'll pass on the spiders cuz they like biting me.
The filter does a good job all right. Is there a way though that with the tubes it won't cause the black background? Do you need to save it as a png and bring it into FF as a png?

Well, as you all know, I only have a Standard version, so it won't save in .png, among other things. But if you use a selection tool on what you want and then apply this filter you should get the same results I'd think.
The reason for the black background is because your "Country Crafts" had transparencies, so when saving in .jpg I guess the resulting background was black. Same with Craig's blood splatter. I had a really nice (if you can call blood splatter nice!) pattern with it but the background came out all red when I saved it.
If I'm ever able to get a Pro I wont have these problems though. ~Foxxee~

I mean in your art program. You do have an art program don't you? Do you use PSP?
You just use the wand and select the area around the object you want to work with, reverse the selection so that the dancing-ants are now around your object you want to run a filter over. If you make tubes you already know how to do this I'd think. So when the object is finally selected in your art program you just run FF over it
As for the selection tool in FF, I don't know how to use that one yet either
would be nice is someone would be willing to give us little tutorial help sessions so we could get more comfortable and not have to fumble all over our (my) efforts to learn... I could sure use the help
