First attempt using Filter Forge

Hey all,

I just downloaded Filter Forge tonight and gave it a crack, been trying to make my own 'ornate' stone wall type texture with cracks, grime and what not.

So anyway I downloaded StoneWall with lights v1.0 by angelboiii and edited it abit by adding the grunge and cracks to it, I'm pretty new to making textures (1 months experience) and are trying a few things out.

Anyway onto the good stuff heres my first attempt using filter forge

hi sly and welcome to FF.

well, you couldnt have hardly picked a better person's filter to play around with. angelboiii has done some excellent filters. i dont recall what the original looks like but your rendition looks good. if you decide to submit it as such, throw angel a bone and give him credit in your decription.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

thanks for the comments and welcome guys. I'm going to fiddle with making a filter for it toniht and see what happens, I did all the editions in Photoshop to it smile:)

Hey Sly, welcome to FF smile:) Looks good smile8) I would suggest applying a cement/agregate texture to it using stones and perlin noise.....

ok might try that, I'm going to try and make a set of textures like this to use on a 1940's type building

Check out Carl's "Cement Wall" filter for a good cement texture......
