Well, as you know, the EULA is being worked on, so I'm kind of not in a position to be posting stuff to the library currently. I can tell you that for this one, the idea was based on Lucato's 'Bizarre Circles', and a previous filter of my own that pans diagonally from squares in one corner, to circles in the other. It's not a difficult one to reverse engineer in that sense. Same with the 'Jagged Steel' one or whatever I called it, it has one little *trick*, a simple one, and the rest is just the same stuff we've all done 100 times to get a shiny surface.

there's something somewhat oriental about those, like chinese watercolor background type stuff, perhaps. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hmm, yeah, I guess I can see the bamboo shoots thing, especially in the 4th green sample huh. I added a kaleidescope and made a couple tweaks to it. Thanks for looking.

----Yeah, not sure what they'd be used for, but that's not my concern, let people like Fred (Sign Guy) worry about that, he makes the big bucks after all. I've just spent the last 3-4 months working on new techniques, mostly making things appear to have surface bumps-lines/depth, without using the lighting. That and making shapes that repeat, but never the same twice, Sjeiti has done some similar things I've seen (and probably some other folks too, his just comes to mind as an inspiration). And besides, I was never very good (ie = never any good ha-ha) at making useful or normal filters, so why not make weird ones. *shrug*

well, i actually do like them. they are like patterns without the kaleidoscopic mirroring. i mean there is some mirroring, but the irregularity of it is like that one painting where the artist interjects something slightly off on purpose to catch the eye and imagination. if overdone, it wont work. if underdone, it wont be noticed either and i think you've got just about the right mix here. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

----Something I wouldn't have understood a scant few years ago, now it's all I do, try to throw things off balance but keep them in tune or aligned enough that it doesn't take the listener/viewer 'out of the moment' so to speak. Computers are great, if you want perfection all the time, and I always thought I did, until after a year or two of it. I learned some more things in round-about ways and realized that too much perfection is in it's own way, quite boring. What can ya do huh ha-ha. Thanks for the comments.

+1..... odd number of objects in an image is alway more interesting than even - beauty is about the imperfections

Thanks guys, I'm glad I'm not the only one, or one of apparently very few judging by the FF library, who is into asymmetrical yet balanced designs. I do like a fairly large amount of balance (ie = balance to asymmetrical ratio should equal about 3:1 in my opinion), in my graphics, but having things always be perfect, or worse, repeat perfectly, is well, quite frankly entirely pointless in the end. On the other hand, I'm no radical, I hate stuff that is just too random too, and more than about 25% *weirdness* in something and I start to lose interest. It becomes too abstract or weird for weird's sake, or just loses the plot because the person who created whatever it is - lacked the fundamental skills to even make something perfect and boring to begin with, and was faking it with a sugar coating of oddball frosting to make it appealing even for a short while. Or something like that that makes more sense ha-ha. But yeah, thanks for looking and for the comments. I'd hate to think we couldn't post stuff here unless it was in, or heading for the library. I don't mean to be a "tease" or whatever, but the fact is, I'll be posting no new textures or designs like this, until there is a new Eula, and not even then if I don't like it, which honestly, I doubt I will at the rate the discussions and Vlad's comments (and lack there of) have been going.

----Well, I can sort of see your point, but I'd still like to think we could all share and comment on things regardless. I try to, but really, most people show one pic and expect a response and I'm like well, no idea what to think really from one example, so I just say nothing. If you'd like, I can just not say how I made the graphic, then maybe subvert that false sense of loss ?
