The other interesting part about this is connecting another Profile Gradient seems to cancel the one out before it.

uberzev, welcome to my world smile:) here's a screen shot of a filter i did a while back...well, part of it. the profile gradient can do some rather interesting things. you've named your snippet a bit incorrectly, however. the programmers made very sure there was no true recursiveness. what you've got is a progressive accummulation.

and here's another from a later filter, loosely based on that last one. this one is called 'profile gradient test'. this one also has curves plugged into the gradients and produces some very wild images.

Sounds weird but I actually would print these huge and hang them on my livingroom walls. But the only problem is I would not leave I would just stare at them all day. Get nothing done that way. Really cool looking thou.

It looks like your looking at a very weird radar of some sort.

The first two would make some interesting rugs. Also they would make cool looking banners.

CF, well, i've been researching some large format printers, one of which can print on cloth. if i ever do go that way i may well try one of these out that way. i'll bet we could come up with pretty strange wallpaper too smile;)

i made another filter, a much smaller one, trying to duplicate uber's but couldnt get it. so, uber, what internal settings are you using there?

also, try plugging in various curves components on those. you can get some very interesting results with those as well.

That would be interesting to see the results with the printed cloth. The one at work can print on canvas but an actual cloth I am not to sure.

Strange wallpaper smile:?: smile:?:

Talk about a conversation piece. smile:D

Another interesting thing to do thats fun with the profile gradient is connecting it this way. More crazy patterns.

CF, cool smile:)

take a look at my posted image of the 2nd filter i mentioned and the workflow for it. notice how i also plugged in the 'color 1' and 'color 2' data in places. it's really a remarkable component. and yes, when you plug kaleidoscope in you can do some fantastic things. also try perlin noise and stones. and though stones is going to slow things down, you can get some interesting effects there also.

i just wish we'd get the new version of FF so i can try some of the other things i want to try smile:) the 10 control limit is killing me badly when i play with filters like these.
