I keep posting things here and they show up for a while then they disappear. If I'm doing something wrong please tell me. I cannot find a faq for this forum, does one exist? I get no email notices, not even the ones I request for verification to the newsletter subscription. Is there a newsletter?

I've been posting using the flickr link because when I try to attach something it will not upload. I don't understand what the Image button does, it just keeps asking for a url and I don't have one.

Right now I see no reason to post anything else here if it is just going to be taken down. So, if someone could give me a clue or info or steer me towards a faq on how or what to post I'll be happy to follow the forum rules.
There is nothing so simple that I cannot complicate it. I try to think of it as a gift.

opal1, to include an image into your post, you can do one of the following:

1) if the file is stored on your computer, click the Browse button just below the posting field and select the image -- it will appear in your post (please mind that the file should be smaller than 250 KB).

2) if the image is uploaded on some website, copy the direct link to the image -- for example, the link to the image you posted here is http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4093/4...ef58_b.jpg -- click the Image button just above the posting field, paste the link into the small window that will open and click OK.

You can try both options right in this thread -- let's see which works best for you smile:)

I have the path showing in the browse window but the picture does not show up in the preview. The picture is 64.9KB.

I can post links to pictures using this method but when I come back later to check for replies the entire post has been removed. That's happened 4 times now with different pictures. I can't figure out why those posts go away or how are they different fr om the link you referenced.

Thanks for your reply.

Oh, I see! Picture does not show in preview but it's added at the end of the post. Cool! One mystery solved, operator error can be so frustrating smile:)

Thanks!

Hi Ron, thanks for the welcome! I'm very new to Filter Forge and the forum and am having fun experimenting with the filters and trying to learn the ropes in here. So many talented people turning out these wonderful filters, so little time to play! smile:)
