It's in that other thread where it is being ignored. Keep the link to my art site as I will be posting more as I make them. I already have to make some for several other people now.

Yes, I made up the story.

Please don't confuse me...that's an African tiger? The jungle is meant to be Thailand. My poor head... smile:|

smile;) smile:D

I have to get some of the wedding things done in the next few weeks. Not much time left before they get married. All I need is to find people to film it. The one place only does artsy Victorian mushy style and we don't want that. I would think they would do what the people hiring them wanted and not what they felt would be good. They can keep their sappy style.

Save it and I will send you an email when more is added. I should probably add the ones that I am doing for other people too.

Daniel took those. Most of his pictures come out really bad, those came out pretty good and were funny. The pouty one looks so unlike Levi. None of the pictures taken by any of us really do him justice.

As soon as it is ready I will post a link here. Hans isn't doing well and he is the one that does my sites. I think I may need to learn how to upload there and stuff soon. These bodies don't hold up too well. smile:(

Hans and I are always on talking terms, we just have disagreements sometimes like any other friends. We've been friends 6 years in April. Hans has a lot of pain, plus his wife isn't doing well. We're both scared for her.

My tubes will be uploaded to my art site for now, but later on they will have their own site. I've just been too busy to make another webset.

Here is Levi's own site. http://home.arcor.de/ajunta/index.htm

He's so cute! I love when they do the sideways run.

That is Paul holding Levi up. Levi is only 3 months old and can't sit by himself yet. I need Levi sitting for the pictures so that I can add him to the scene the way I am wanting. Paul's arem will not be showing in the final pictures.

How will you extract him? I decided to get really good with the path tool in PS so I could have him removed in less than an hour depending on the resolution.

I delete areas around him with the lasso tool...probably the same thing as the path tool. PSP is easy for me so I have barely opened the PS program. I've had PS for years, but PSP really is much easier to learn.

No the path tool is a vector tool. I lay down the vectors then feather/blur the edges then convert to mask. The radius of the blur can be tightly controlled. I mastered it on this project:

I was slow as hell starting out but by the time I finished it was second nature. smile:)

I never print to paper so I don't mind loosing detail in the shadows or highlights. It's just a style thing but I try for very dramatic lighting.

Are you speaking Austrailian? I should understand since I consider myself somewhat of an Ausie expert since I have seen Crocodile Dundee *and* the episode of the Simpsons that has Bart getting the boot.

Australia has muffins!! I have to go! I guess it makes sense - think of all the other uses a muffin pan would have while walkabouting around the outback. Separating water, hitting pigmies and crocs, protecting boomerangs... smile:D

You can click on the 'Download Photo' link to the right of the slides but I don't think there is enough detail for it to make much sense. I had a support document for my PS group. I can probably dig it up if you want.

That's going to do it for me. I'll be back next time rigging is kicking my ass again. No saying interesting things until then. smile:D

nice pics, manon and ron.

i use psp mostly also. i'm like manon, i have ps but mostly use psp... easier. i normally use the background eraser tool for extractions. if set correctly it makes extractions quite easy.

I'm still using PSP 7 Anniversary Edition. I've tried the newer versions, but 7 is my favorite and I am very good with it. I did try that tool in version 8 and it was fun, but I can actually get a cleaner result tubing with the lasso tool.

The only reason I am finally attempting to learn PS is because of all the brushes and actions I have collected and bought for it. I just wish I could read that tiny print in the actions area so I could see what I'm doing. My poor eyes. smile:D

you use the point to point part of the lasso, freehand or the automatic part?

Point to point and freehand. I also feather at 1 because it smoothes the curves out and gets rid of the jagged edges.

ah, ok.

well, somewhere back around version 9, a friend at retouchpro.com, bart hickman, told me about and somewhat tutored me how to use the background eraser tool. i dont recall using the tool in version 7, but somewhere around ver 9 or 10, i began to use it and it can certainly make some extractions very easy. i dont know if they improved it or what somewhere after ver 7 or not, since i really only became familiar with it around 9 or 10, but it's a pretty slick tool once you get the settings right. you could probably even find that thread over at retouchpro if you wanted. what really impressed me about it was doing very difficult extractions like hair. that's always a tough one.

but, that's fine. if you've got something that works well for yourself, no need to learn another.

Here is the document I used to describe the project to the group. Don't worry if you do not make it all the way through, it reads like a sleeping pill. It went over like a lead balloon with the group - not a single comment. Oh well, I learned a lot.

Crapadilla and Redcap have FF solutions that offer less control but are far easier to use.
Crapadilla http://www.filterforge.com/filters/1598.html
Redcap http://www.filterforge.com/filters/3750.html

http://picasaweb.google.com/ronviers/PuzzleProject

I have a PSD document that is basically a group of vector masks. These
layers with their associated masks are arranged in such a way that any
image can be loaded into this file and it will take on the appearance
of a jigsaw puzzle. The way this works is that an arbitrary image is loaded into the PSD as the 'Puzzle' layer. There is also a 'Pieces' group filled with the individual vector masks with clipping paths for each piece. Notice how some of the pieces are red. Once the image that is to be used as the 'Puzzle' layer is loaded into the document the pieces layers (pieces) that are to be uses are changed to red so they can be selected manually later. Finally there is an 'Archive' group used
to contain the source for the paths and two styles. The style source layers are used to customize the appearance of the pieces, then those styles are pasted en mass onto either the pieces that are to be visible or the ones to be invisible. Then I go through and do a 'Knockout Deep' to background to all the pieces that are to be invisible. Btw, my original idea was that I would simply make invisible (click on the layer eye) the pieces to get rid of them but reality set in and I had to come up with the cumbersome 'style' pasting technique.
With this approach any number of raws can be loaded into their own
template to be puzzleized. Also I figured out a way by using the
'styles' palette to quickly 'show' or knockout by easily and
quickly replacing the piece style. And now by using nested smart
objects not only is the process non-destructive but it is much simpler
to work with. This works especially well for knocking out parts of a
photo that otherwise takes away. I filled this web album full of
in-process screen caps if you want to make one of these for yourself.
Or you can email me ronviers@gmail.com and I will send you the PSD template.
