Morgan ... I can see what you mean about elvis in a wind tunnel. The mouth was the focus of this sculpt. I was trying for either a politician's fake smile or a rock singer's snarl. It got out of my control .....

Gigi ... I really like the mouth on your cute pig. It is very unusual and really stands out. I do like that background, of course I always like good textures. I'll be waiting for the filter .... The background of my Elvis guy was created with my Fuzz And Fog Patterns filter .....

I think that your guy must be very angry. Well done Gene ! He is looking at me with his big mad eyes. Maybe he is hungry and want to eat me. I better run fast to avoid getting caught by him. LOL
OK no need to run because I brought with me my beast with her baby : they will devour your guy. I used one of my new background filter for the bg and one of your material for my monster. ![]() visit https://gisoft.ca |

Gigi ... I like the way your beast and baby seem to float over your background. You win, your monster is stranger than mine. I would definately run the other way if I ran into it on a dark night. I'm glad you posted a larger size version. I could see all the fun detail that way. My green mossy material really works well on the guy. You need a lot of bumps and grooves for it to look very good. Cool guy .....

Gigi ... I really like the expression on your blue jelly fish .... His puffy cheeks and wide smile is very expressive ... He is one fun guy. That was a lot of work pulling out all the tenticles ....
You started the fish stories ... I thinks this is a guy you caught but threw back in ... The color started with a Gigi material which I added some highlights and texture to. The background was created with the Gigi v2 filter. I love that filter ..... ![]() |

This may not seem to have anything to do with FF, but in a roundabout way it does. I have wanted to use shapeways to have solid models of some of my sculpts made. I finnaly sent them one and I am waiting excitedly for it show up in the mail. I am not sure what the next step is. Shapeways can reproduce sculpts in many kinds of materials, but it can get pretty costly. I thought I would try to use the model as a form to make a mold with. That way I can make castings using various materials. I will use FF to experiment with possible surface treatments for those reproductions. This the sculpt I sent to them. I ran my Antique Splatter filter on it to see how it would look with an antique finish.

That first sculpt was flat and I have been working or thicker ones as well. You have to be carful not to go too thick because they charge by volume. This one was made as a pendant with a loop for the chain. The surface is CorvusCroax's Bronzerizer filter which I added a hue/saturation node to make it a little more versatile. In figured I could duplicate this finish with some drybrush effects.

I have not had much time these days because I started my garden. But I still took a few minutes to create this fish ... to continue what you started the other day. Your latest images are beautiful. I recognize your unique style that no one can imitate.
This fish is not very pretty but I would post it anyway. ![]() visit https://gisoft.ca |

Gigi ... Is that one of those Asian carp? Nice little guy. It looks like he is going " Glub, glub ...." To keep the thread fishy here is a recent T-shirt design of mine. I cheated on this one. It is not really a sculpt. It is based on a sketch my wife made for a sea creature project she was doing. I inked it in and did some FF magic on it to make it look like a carving. For those of using language translaters the caption is: "OK so I'm a little crabby"

Hey Gene,
How about making another shirt with lots and lots of little version of this crab? The caption could be "I got Crabs" ![]() Very cool looking crab you got there, I like both the sketch and what you've done with it. Very cute! ![]() |

Carl ... Sorry, I always thought of you as a very manly man ... Thought you might say: "Knarly Mate"
Morgan ... Thanks ... glad you liked it ... Changing the caption had to do with marketing ... I have found that folks who wear t-shirts prefer making fun of others rather than themselves .... Gigi ... Really cool guy. He looks like an alien puffer fish. He could become the star of the next Disney fishy movie. Isn't that the kind os fish that some odd folks eat raw even though they are poison. I love the way you used my material ... |

Been kinda quite on this thread lately. Mardar has been absent for a very good reason and Ghislaine is busy producing those really cool spirograph filters of hers. I thought I'd upload a couple of images. I mentioned in a previous post that I had started uploading sculpts to shapeways. Thought some folks might be interested in the process. Well, I found it is not so easy. My first sculpt was rejected as not possible to be duplicated. It had been sculpted on a flat plane and was informed that is was too thin to produce. It ain't easy folks. I was trying to keep cost down (they charge by size and volume) so I tried again with a couple of thicker sculpts. Here is an image of the latest pendant with some overdone FF magic for the surface.

They already informed me that a 3D model can be made in white plastic for that last pendant. I submitted it in two sizes, one 2 inches long and about 1/4 inch thick. It did not cost much printed in white plastic but jumpted in price for metal plastics. I also uploaded the same sculpt at about half that size and had it printed in an aluminum filled material. We will see ... We will see ... I have been trying to find the perfect thickness, so I have been sculpting on discs just under 1/4 inch. It works, but You have to be careful that carving the front does not go so deep to show through to the back. This sunface guy is pretty simple, but I got it made with little distortion on the back. I used FF for the surface of course.
