Yesterday Intel released a new X-Series line of desktop CPUs with 12 models including a completely new 10-core/20-thread one. They are already available in stores. Four more models are to be released soon, including an incredible 18-core model.

18 cores in a desktop processor! I doubt AMD has something to respond to that.

Thanks for the news GMM, but regrettably this awesome and amazing 18-core CPU chip will cost 1999$ and you will need also a new motherboard and new RAM chips too with this, so is really not a very good and affordable way to make FF faster
