I recently upgraded my OS to Lion, andI have just tried invoking FF from within Photoshop. It crashes every time. I thought it might have been the Multi-Sketch filter, as I had just installed it before this started, but I deleted it and it is still happening. I then realized that I hadn't used FF since upgrading the OS. FF still works fin in standalone, but it appears that the Photoshop filter is DOA.

Same here with new Lion system on my Macbook Pro. Crashed every time, even after multiple reinstalls. Filter Forge is out of business on my computer for the moment.

this is the error message - <XFW::OSCallError> ::close failed with error code 9: Bad file descriptor.

Unfortunately that's true. Please use Filter Forge in the standalone mode until we fix the plugin.

Unfortunately my work flow doesn't allow for Filter Forge to be used except as a plug in. As a result, since Filter Forge is core to my image processing, I cannot work till this is fixed, which I hope will be very soon . . .

I also use it primarily as a plugin, on individual layers, so I'm essentially dead in the water, too.

Using Filter Forge 3.014 (two years after OP) and also running in Lion. Photoshop (12.0.4) CS5 crashes every time I try to open FF as a plug-in.
Did that fix ever get released?
