Please launch Terminal from Spotlight or Launchpad > Utilities and type this:

 cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/
 sudo ./InstallPlugins

Sudo will ask you for an admin password, as InstallPlugins requires elevated privileges.

It works, if you do it accurately:

 1. Type cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/
 2. Press Enter
 3. Type sudo ./InstallPlugins
 4. Press Enter
 5. Type your admin password and press Enter

I am still having issues. I can launch filter forge as a stand alone application but not as a plugin. I have also dragged and dropped into the photoshop filter folder.

 jerryjividen@Jerrys-MBP ~ % cd /Applications/Filter\ Forge\ 8/
 jerryjividen@Jerrys-MBP Filter Forge 8 % sudo ./InstallPlugins
 Password:
sudo: unable to execute ./InstallPlugins: Bad CPU type in executable

Any ideas on now to get the plugins working is Photoshop 2020 using Catalina?

Solution to Photoshop Plug-in fail on Mac. This is copied from user M_L on another of this forum's posts. I tried this using Mac OS Catalina, FF 9 and PS 2020 and PS 2021 and it worked for me (Anvil Hammer).
 _______

 Shut down Photoshop

In Finder, open: Applications > Filter Forge 9
Make an alias of 'Filter Forge 9 universal.plugin'

In another Finder window, open: Applications > Adobe Photoshop 2021 > Plug-ins
Copy alias to the Photoshop Plug-ins folder (do not actually copy the plugin - it must be an alias!) ← Will ask you for admin privs
