Could not complete the Filter Forge 9 command because of a program error.

I just downloaded FF9 and it 1) doesn't launch from PS 2020 (64bit) or 2) it says there is a program error. I read on one of the thread to work under the 32bit but I am not sure how to switch from 64 to 32 bit mode. Looking forward to any solutions you may have. Thank you!

It would better to show a screenshot of the message that you get

And would be good to know detailed what steps do you do until you get the error message so it can be reproduced and be able to help and know what can be wrong and tell how is right if possible.

Have you tried to reinstall it over the one that you already got?

Hello SpaceRay

I have attached the screen shot. Steps taken:
1. open Photoshop, open file to be edited
2. Select Filter forge>Filter Forge 9 under filters
And that's when the error message pops up.

I have deleted the application, emptied the trash can, and re-downloaded the app and reinstalled it. Nothing worked so far.

Thank you.

Edit: Solved it:

Shut down Photoshop

In Finder, open: Applications > Filter Forge 9
Make an alias of 'Filter Forge 9 universal.plugin'

In another Finder window, open: Applications > Adobe Photoshop 2021 > Plug-ins
Copy alias to the Photoshop Plug-ins folder (do not actually copy the plugin - it must be an alias!) ← Will ask you for admin privs

Was:
Same problem with Photoshop 2021.

Thanks M_L! I tried your solution using Mac OS Catalina, FF 9, and PS 2020 and PS 2021 and it worked for me (Anvil Hammer). This is very helpful!
