I downloaded the update and also removed the previous version folder (2.08) residing in Plugins/Filters as explained how to do in "plugin workaround for CS5 and other Mac hosts" fr om another topic here. Upon opening PS in 64-bit mode I do see FF appear in the filters list and when I try to access the application by clicking on 'Filter Forge 2 ..." PS crashes (PhotoShop Quit Unexpectedly message).

I placed the 'Filter Forge 2 universal x86.plugin' and 'Filter Forge 2 universal.plugin' in the Plugins/Filters folder of PSCS5. Is there a different plugin that should go there instead or do I need to use the same method as in the workaround mentioned above wh ere I take the whole updated FF application and place it into the Plugins/Filters?

System is 2.93GHz Intel Core i7 running OS 10.6.5

Thanks,
LeoLion

You don't need to use this solution anymore: now FF supports Photoshop CS5. If you have placed any .plugin files into the Plugins/Filters folder, please remove them.

Tried this and removing the plugins also removes FF2 from the Filter list in the PS CS5 application.

Thanks,

LeoLion, I think you'll need to uninstall and reinstall Filter Forge.

That totally did the trick. Managed to keep all my filters through the reinstall as well.

Thanks for that!

How do you save your filters that you already have downloaded from website?

Photoshop CS4 crashing when I choose FF2 from plugin filters and freezing up. I think I am going to have to re-install it from the disk. Do I need to delete FF2 and then re-install or can I re-install over it?? What my biggest concern is that I do not want to lose all the filters I have downloaded!

Please help!! This has happend to me for the 3rd time in 1.5 years. smile:evil:

Hey Shockwave, I'm not going to dilute the Mac forum with Windows-specific problems, and I cannot move a single message to the appropriate forum while leaving other messages in this thread. Feel free to repost in the Bugs and Problems (Windows) forum to discuss your issue.
