Clay Sticks filter name in FF library is Library_8666-2
if you have a problem with this filter, I think that even after deleting the filter you could still have a problem for crashing FF as it is also stored in the LibraryStructure.xml

thanks spaceray,
do you think uninstalling/reinstalling ff would help?
none of the other filters crash, and if i use ff as a stand alone, there are no problems crashing PS

try deleting the filter from the library, if this still keeps crashing you FF, you can also carefully delete the filter from the LibraryStructure.xml (this is a text based file)
This is located in ...Applications\Filter Forge 3\System
If you do not know what is this tell me
If you want to uninstall and reinstall also solves the problem, but you have to make a backup before of any filters you may have downloaded
If you want more information there is a thread in the forum explaining this and I can give you the link

hi sr,
yes, i can always use more info. the problem was scripted filters not working on a mac. i just deleted everything (hidden library folder), and started over again. i didn't want to back up the filters since scripted ones were "bad". how can i tell if a filter is using scripts so i don't have to go through this again?
thank you

ps, it appears that i should just stay away from any filter that has the word "script(s)" in the description.

Hi Alex,
Clay Sticks does not contain any scripts, so it can't be that. Other users have reported problems with that filter, and I'd like to help out if I just could: the filter runs just fine here :-/ though if a filter crashes FF, it is really their job to fix FF so it doesn't crash, so remember to send a bug report (or 20).

hey sphinx,
HA, it looks like it's getting to be more like 20 bug reports!!
from what i can figure, clay sticks crashed ff when i selected it, but the scripted filters crashed the whole program upon opening.
i'm thinking FREE upgrade to ff4 for the less fortunate of us using macs, but hey, i'm just an artiste.
