I'm using a Macbook Pro (Intel) with PS X 10.5.6. Filter Forge usually crashes whenever I submit a Filter, often three times in a row:

First crash: Occurs when I click Next after checking the "I accept the agreement" box.

Second Crash: Occurs when logging in to my account using Filter Forge.

Third Crash: Clicking Submit to actually send the finished filter.

So most of the time, I need to launch Filter Forge four times every time I want to submit one filter.

Occasionally, one or more of these expected crashes does not occur. Crashes seem more likely when editing Filter information during the submission process (Description, Keywords, Update Info.) It seems like the longer it takes me to work my way through all different steps of the submission process, the more likely a crash is.

I'm thinking a connection might be opening and then timing out between the time when I first click Submit to Filter Library in FF, and the time when I click the final Submit, but that's a guess.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.

WarpZone, are you trying to enter non-ASCII symbols in the filter info? This may crash Filter Forge (a known issue).

I don't think so. If I was, it would have been something like an exclamation mark or a semicolon. Nothing weird. I wasn't putting in graphic symbols or anything. Just regular text and punctuation.

Anyway, whatever symbols I do enter, they eventually do go through, just on the next attempt. I never lose my typed characters and the stuff I typed doesn't cause the issue again the second time I click on the crash-trigger. And it's clicking Next that crashes it, not the act of typing the characters.

The crashes always happen exactly once and in order. I.E. , crash #3 never happens unless Crash # 2 happened, and Crash #2 never happens twice in a row.

This (and the previous thread) seem to be related: FF crashes randomly when accessing the internet. It happens when it goes online to fetch a filter, when it accesses the servers for logging in to submit a filter, or when actually submitting a filter. It also happens when using the built-in filter browser. It seems to only happen after editing stuff, like a filter, or filter info (which can be done inside the submit wizard and is probably confusing the issue).
I'm on and Intel iMac, but this also happens on my old G5 tower.
