I had this problem begin during the betas. Back in March, I tried to install the latest beta and it would not accept name and/or serial number provided by FF. I tried reinstalling, clearing out files in Photoshop and in Apps and any Filter Forge files I could find in App Support in the Library. I wish an uninstaller was provided. I have tried several times and every time I am told the info I am putting in is invalid. The DVD arrived with installers and my permanent name and serial number. Again, I tried to remove everything...again it said "invalid".
I am on a MacBook Pro, running 10.5.6, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Nvidia 9600 GT with 512 vram. My PC version runs fine, though I haven't installed from the DVD. Am a bit afraid to as it's the only way I can use FF right now.
This is utterly aggravating. I emailed last night, but no response yet.
I would be glad of some assistance.
Thank you,
Cris

I don't know if this would work, but if FF doesn't get back to you soon, do an advanced uninstall with "Revo Uninstaller" (freebie program that deletes all registry entries and settings folders).....then try downloading and re-installing FF again.....
If Revo doesn't work for Mac, then just manually delete all FF folders on your system (do a search to delete the hidden folders).....then download and re-install FF again.....registry, shortcuts, and system files will just be overwritten.....
These two methods are ways to wipe out old setting/key information which is probably corrupted and causing your problem.....and allow a fresh install that should work..... Steve

Thanks, StevieJ. Uninstalling is never an easy thing without an uninstaller on a Mac, has been my experience, but I will check into what you say. I know that it's some file that needs to be deleted doing this, but clueless as to which one.

In windows, the files you need to delete are found in the hidden user folders.....and I think it should be set up somewhat similar on a Mac......so doing a seach including all hidden files should reveal them for deletion. To make sure, I would suggest manually deleting all Filter Forge folders and files you can find on your system to make sure its gone.....then a fresh install should work for you..... Steve

Stevie, after I deleted all FF files in my application folder and in the Application Support in my Library and did a search for any Filter Forge hidden files, nothing was found. What kind of files are hidden on the PC end to see if I can find it's equivalent on the Mac?
Thanks.

Yes, you can search for hidden, which I have, and I cleared everything in the library. I don't know what else to do. It's getting a bit ridiculous.
Thanks,

Oh, bummer....I'm assuming that a fresh install didn't work after totally cleaning FF off of your computer.....
The only other suggestion (that I have) would be to install the program that allows you to run Windows apps on a Mac.....then install the Windows version of FF on it.....since the Mac version obviously has some "bugs" that still need to be worked out of it.....and the Windows version of FF is now very stable since they just remedied the "resource leak" problem in it...... i would also try removing everything AND download the mac trial/demo version. it's possible your copy is corrupted slightly. after downloading and installing the demo, then try to enter your key code and see if that doesnt work then. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Yeah, that is the only place I can run FF, is on the intel side. But I can't have a copy of Photoshop in Windows as Adobe wants you to buy a full new seat to use it on both sides.

Hi, Craig, I've removed everything I can find, visible and hidden, but I can try a new trial/demo. Just wish I knew what happened...everything was fine till I installed one of the betas back in February.

Not sure what you mean....installers are exe and dmg, so no mistaking and only one serial number for both.

You need FF installed as a PS plugin??? If you don't, just install FF as a "stand-alone" app on the PC virtual platform.....then just open the images in PS on the Mac platform. Hey, I won't rest until you get your FF back..... LOL..... Steve

That's how I work now, Stevie, but it means saving and taking back to PS....but...well, I paid for the Mac version in addition to the PC version I got a couple years back, so kinda would like it to work on my Mac, heh, if you know what I mean.

There is, but from what I've gathered from other posts, no one seems to be getting through....
All I can say is keep writing them.....and even make another post with alot of those "angry" smilies.....should get at least GMM's attention.....
Vlad should hire Craig to do customer service.....kinda already doing alot of it.....right Craig??? Steve

I did check into FileVault, but FileVault is not on by default and such was the case with my machine. So still nothing I can find on my end.
Sorry, GMM. Hopefully you guys can figure out what else it could be. My friend that I introduced to FF and is on Mac, says it works great.

Okay, it has to be some corrupt FF settings files left on your computer.....
1) Search for all files (including hidden and system) with "FilterForge" and delete all of them....
2) Delete all temporary files from your computer.....
3) Do a search in your registry for all files/folders with "FilterForge" and deletete all of them.....
The only other thing would be to go to a Mac forum and ask the Mac geeks how to get rid of all traces of a program.....you could probably do an internet search an find step-by-step instructions on how to do it.....probably should do this first before following my previous steps.....
I haven't given up.....yet..... Steve

Putting something like this in "Help" might not be a bad idea. "Revo Uninstaller" (freebie program) does a thorough job of getting rid of all program traces in windows.....too bad that they don't have a version of it for Mac..... Steve

I have also been running into this same problem (on Mac 10.5.6). I tried the "delete everything" method and reinstalling from a new download of the app, but it did not help.
On May 15, Bella wrote to me and said "Our tester managed to reproduce the bug which results in Filter Forge not accepting the license info. Right now the developers are trying to fix it, and we really hope they'll manage to do it in the nearest future."
Hopefully this can get resolved soon. It is frustrating to have finally purchased the program after beta testing it, and then not being able to use it at all.

I purchased this as soon as we were allowed to and I have to admit at being dismayed and frustrated at the lack of response to this problem. At least two people have said they have the same problem, so it is not isolated. If FF would just get back to us and even say it's being worked on. I first voiced this problem at the beginning of May. We are now heading to the beginning of July. I have had a similar problem, though, since March with the final betas. No response is not a good thing, especially when we have paid for the program and have, yet, no viable solution.
I would appreciate a response.

Yes, I have (case 157801), and today finally got a response (after over a month). I have been trying to be patient about this problem (I am an alpha tester for Adobe, so I understand about bugs) but the slow communication has been a little frustrating.
Thank you for getting back to me.
