Unable to download filters

This morning I encountered an error when attempting to download filters. The error occurs if I check for updates from within FF and when directly trying to download a filter from the website. It occurs immediately after the program has connected to the server. It reads; "Initial data download failed. Reason: "get_families_version_list() failed."

This is with the Windows standalone version and plugin, running on Win7 x64.

Suspiciously this is the first time I have tried to download a filter after the recent round of MS updates on Tuesday. Anyone else experienced a similar problem?

dont worry it happens to MAC too smile;) same error ..
i think its a server error so not Win/Mac related ..

I'm having the same problem today (Dec. 27.) Everything was working fine yesterday. Is there any kind of fix or work-around?

Interestingly, if I try to download a filter I already have, it correctly finds it almost instantly. Other than that, it fails with the error message (Initial data download failed. Reason: "get_families_version_list() failed.) with both the plug-in and the stand alone.

I'm running a Mac, but it appears that doesn't matter in this case.

Probably you're trying to access the server at the time of our daily backup. Within 10-15 minutes everything should be working.
