Ok so I have ff 3.005 and its saying I need to download a newer version. (the one on the website is 3.0 so its actually older?)
I realise FF is special in the way it retrieves files from the server so I can kinda deal with this crap but it is the biggest hassle of all applications I use. I mean who makes applications that by design just stop working on a regular basis? I have work to do RIGHT NOW I dont want to be pissing around trying to figure out what the problem is. Please fix the way you deliver upgrades, its extremely user unfriendly. AC |

Please see this thread ---> FILTER FORGE 3.0 HAS BEEN RELEASED http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...5&TID=9055 Sorry, but the 3.005 is the old beta version and is no more used and from the 10 of November there has been released the final commercial version of Filter Forge 3.0 that is version 3.006 It is also shown on the home page that the 3.0 final version has been released so is not anymore the beta, and is a new version.
If you go to the download page you will see that it has changed and there is a new version of 3.0, and is the final commercial version and not anymore the beta. http://www.filterforge.com/download/ So please, download the new version and install it over the old version of 3.0 you have and so you can continue your work. You can use this new version for 30 days as a trial if you do not have the new key and have not bought the upgrade yet. |

I have version 3.006 but I cannot download new filters to FF.
It keeps telling me "Firefox can't find the file at filterforge://open-9637." Albert |

Gameshade, does it happen in another browser: Chrome, Safari or IE?

No... in safari it loads the file directly into FF.
I thought that clearing the cache file from Firefox would solve it but it persists in telling that it cannot open Filterforge. For now though I copy and paste into safari and then load into FF. Albert |

Hello,
I have same problem. Since i upgraded to FF3.006 Pro version i could't download any filter into Firefox. It told me same thing: "Firefox can't find the file at filterforge://open-etc." I have to copy and paste into safari also. And FF3 integrated filters updates works fine at the beginning. And I cut firewall to see if there was any trouble with it... TheDiD MacOS 10.6.8 ![]() |

Looks like Firefox internally points to a wrong or missing executable for open ffxml file requests. You can set the correct file path and application in Firefox's preferences > applications tab. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

YOU ARE WRIGHT CRAPADILLA....
Firefox was connected with FF2. I changed it to FF3 in Firefox's preferences > applications tab and it works. Thanks a lot. |

Please, I think that to find a fast solution and fix to the "can´t download FF filter" problem, you could try the following:
1 - Use another different browser to see if with this other browser you can download FF filters 2 - Delete the FF cookies and try again to download and confirm to create new FF cookies when the browser tells you "filter forge is not installed" which is obviously wrong 3 - IF NON of the browsers work, you can also try to download FF filter using the built in browser inside Filter Forge so you do not depend from any browser. |
