for the time being, it might be smarter if we all posted results of our work with the new beta here, in this forum, and perhaps even all in this one thread. up to you guys, but it would be nice to see things without having to go to 3 or 4 different forums.

so, i'll start. here's a starfield i made in about 10 minutes. it's not meant to be a real world representation but more of a christmas card background representation. piece of cake smile:)

If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

and switching things around just a little bit, we get snow. this isnt that tough with version one, but it takes more components and more tweaking. with bombers and shapes it's a piece of cake. and this is just roughly done.

The "Balanced" layering method was included precisely for this purpose -- it blends octaves the same way our other noises do.

the new toys, especially in conjunction with each other, are pretty freakin cool, and i'm no Uberzev smile;) plug some of the shapes into the bombers and voila! love the new 'median' component, also!

My wish for this component:

Bomber has "Density" option. Very useful function. But now layers have only one order - top and left side is higher.

I would like to have the option in the component which allows me to change this order (actually, not so many variations here smile:))

Can it be added? It's possible to use offsets after bomber, but they spoil resized image.

This was my first test. I used the simplified cricle gradient v2 with bomber rotation for the radial effect. That combo alone will be very useful to me. Also, HDR is such a great addition.

Created a flowerfield generator. The Bomber is absolutely perfect for creating multi-tiles, love this feature., Now I can create multi-tiles that looks 100% perfect, not just 80% perfect.

HDR colors + Particle Bomber = Glorious Nebulae formations. I just needed to do this.

The HDR settings are amazing. I only wish the control node for color has the same option.

you can also easily make star shapes with flares using elipses and incorporate them into your above smile;)

Kraelin, I've actually tried, I think it currently looks cheesy so I'm attempting something "a bit far beyond." Lets hope that the beta doesn't crash when I'm playing around with it.

Be careful with the Bomber / Frame combo -- it reacts to the global Size slider incorrectly. We added "Particle Mode" to the Image and Selection components, but we didn't add it to Frame.

Handling Size correctly when size-independent components are used as Bomber particles is an open problem -- we'll need to solve it in future updates.

Frame is not necessary -- you can use the new Ellipse component to make cellular noises with Bomber. Make sure you set Layering method to Balanced -- this way Roughness and Details of your noise will be consistent with our built-in noises.
