Thanks again, I'm incredibly happy with the results. smile:) Now I just need to optimize it, hopefully it won't lose too much quality in the process.

Here's a smaller update at a higher res. I improved the terrain and water. You can start to see some of the sorting issues at high resolution.

If you're talking about the rocks "in" the trees, I say make all trees fully occlude rocks.
Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF

That might be the best solution, I'll try it out next time I've got it open. Though currently the rocks and trees share a bomber, I think I'd need to separate them. There are still some issues between same object particles. But the only way to fix that is with more sorting controls.

Ben, that island filter is spectacular to say the least..... smile8)

I've done some flight sim terrain textures.....but from an altitude that you can't make out the tree shapes..... smile;) smile:D

UDK test.. all textures (except the sky) is FF..
I know, there is noticable repeat in the lower and upper column (lazy in maya..), columns are just straight boxes etc.. its all just to test some stuff out..

I'm pretty happy with those two.
They are just some variants of one of my base stone textures put through some tiles components.
Again... all texture maps made in FFv2... minor blending in PSP.
I haven't gotten them looking quite that good in UDK yet though.
Daz handles displacement mapping very nicely, and their lighting is great.

That scene you have there is cool!
I'd like to see more of what you're working on.
I haven't gotten that much together in UDK...
Wish I had a bit more time to put into it.

nice molding/wall trim, angel!

and nice stones, meye! the only problem i see is that i can see the 8x8 pixel blocks in at least one of those.

and angel, nice, moody scene. prison walls? sweet! great having you back and showing your talent!
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

the stuff im showing here are tests and stuff im doing for myself.. im working (sloooooowly) on aseets for a personal project, it will be egyptian-underworld-kind-a-thingie.. i know it doesnt look like from the stuff im posting here, but im sloooowly moving towards the "artistic direction" i have in mind for it.. i have time to experiment since i have no deadlines smile:)

I love video games! I'm a PS3 dude myself. We have come along way since Pac Man!

I finally figured out a way to do a distance transform using a small series of Minimum components.

Using the image from Corvus´ bevel topic:


It combines inverted outer distance with inner distance transform:
