Been playing with more wood again, some screws and nails too.

I "borrowed" angels way of showing several textures at once.

I will - still needs some tweaking, and some more control, and also, I need to come up with a better name than "screw the wood panel test" smile;-)

I particularly like the coloration and the weathered texture. Also that it's matte ... way too many shiny wood (and rock)filters out there.

Totte, you might play around with my corner finder snippet... it makes some pretty good bolts etc. on rectangular areas, like wood planks.

Corvus, I made that filter at first because I was making a model of an old Burgundian wine press, and I needed something which looked like different small planks of wood, not one large chunk, then I added screws and nails to it. I will look into that corner finder, but for another of my wood textures I'm working on, where I have problems finding where to place the nails. This one was pretty simple, you will see when you download it (it in the queue) smile;-)

Corner Finder works with lots of small objects too. (Best if they're rectangular, though.) Check it out:

Playing with the bomber again. Notice the particle sorting order is not blindly top left -> bottom right. Its possible to control the order slightly by using a gradient overlay and lighten blendmode, though its not all perfect.

Sphinx, that's beautiful! The layering's not perfect, but you can quickly fix any problems in Photoshop post.

Kraellin - that's pretty cool grain.

Here's one for 4th of may smile:)

Cool light sabers!

Here is another experiment - layering fixed now. However another "bug" crawled in (those dark segment artifacts), but it actually looks cool. Damn I love that AO stuff.. turn of the Ray jittering and crank up the directions.. interesting shadow like effect.

I'm starting to notice poor AA handling with the bomber though.. its as if the particles are rendered to internal bitmaps or something.. no matter how high I go with the aa samples, the edges look like interpolated subsampling or something..

There is some HDR, but mostly it's just profile curves on linear gradients. It could easily be V1, except for the fifty bajillion lookups smile:D

Yep this is a good one..I have used this method myself for some experiments earlier in this thread and for some in the anaglyph thread...Also handy for a very early stage FFT....

Guess I will add this on to this post....Heres another fun distortion in case no-one ran accross this one yet....
