Hi folks, here I'll post all my suggestion that came up while using the amazing new Filter Forge Beta 3. Btw, congratulations FF team! Amazing improvements so far!

Well, these new requests posted here are different from those previous wishes I've posted here (A bunch are still needed and fits for 3.0+) as you can check below:
- Ideas for Filter Forge Beta 2+

LEGEND:
MI=Main Interface;
EI=Editor Interface.

IDEAS FOR FILTER FORGE BETA 3.0+

1) Curve Editor (EI):
When editing the Bézier Curves in the Curve Editor, it would be very useful to have:
a) a MARQUEE SELECTOR, so we would drag and select one or more HANDLES to drag and move them at once (Hey Vlad, here I come with a Marquee selection suggestion again) smile:) ;
b) By dragging would move all handles together freely following the same positions and by holding shift together would drag them together vertically only;
c) by holding ctrl would drag horizontally only;
d) If just selecting one handle by clicking, and If I hold click I would get to select a second handle to get to selected at once.

2) coming soon...

Already half-implemented smile:D -- didn't make it into this beta. Dmitry, the guy who coded it, goes on a vacation so he will finalize the feature after he's back. It will be released either in Beta 3 or in the final release.

Yes, that's how it will work (all coordinate constraints will be bound to Shift though, as they currently are).

Not so sure about this one. We'll think about it when Dmitry is back.

Wow cool! Great to know. Thanks for the heads up! I hope Dmitry comes back with his battery full recharged. ;0) Send my thanks to Dmitry too.

Hmmm, I'm sorry, but they aren't currently working this way here. I mean, they are working weird with holding shift. By holding shift the left/right movements aren't frozen just allowing the vertical movement (up/down). Here it starts to move diagonally also and seem to get different reactions when near to each guideline direction. Regarding the CTRL key, when I hold Ctrl it changes the tool for the loupe instead of holding the horizontal position movements only. So, IMHO by holding:
SHIFT: Moves handles only up/down (Vertically);
CTRL: Moves handles only left/right (Horizontally).

Think on this one too, because it would be useful when not getting to select to far handles with the selection marquee. I mean, lets suppose I have one handle one the very left side, a bunch on the middle and other on the very left. If I want to select just the very left and the very right, with the select marquee will select also all in the middle, and if I have this CTRL option I would just pick the corners. ;0)

2) Curve Editor cont... (EI):
When editing the Bézier Curves in the Curve Editor, it would be very useful to:
a) Get to resize the Curve Editor window by dragging its corners. I have a 24' monitor that has room to get it bigger and zoom the handes and whole area to work better in details;
b) Have a checkbox to select snap to guidelines or not when using the HOLD/SHIF commands together with the dragging as mentioned on the previous suggestion #1. So, the movements would be totally free or snap to guidelines.

Great ideas, i hope you don't mind if i add some suggestions also smile;)

A option to show just the currently selected points Handle controls would be useful. Right now you see all the points handles but as you add more things can get complex so this would be useful in my option.

Also it would be useful if you could disable the selection of handles as i found sometimes they selected when i wanted to move points in a zoomed out view and they are close to them.

Or using 1 filter itself as component inside other filter.
Or a 3d render as a component

My wishlist would include the ability to save custom curve presets. I think it would also be useful to have a reset to default button.

3) Slider controls.
It would be great if FF had a checkbox in the slider control to select (Allow to rename set as default). So, if cheked it keeps renaming the slider control when connected in a new input of a component. After we label a slider, it would automatically unchecked the checkbox, therefore, if unchecked, the slider won't change/rename the slider when changing the inputs in a component. ;0)
