Hi everyone! After 8 years of development, we're happy to announce the long-awaited Filter Forge successor, codenamed Ultraforge -- a powerful node-based environment for image generation and processing:

- GPU support for significant speed improvement.
- Node-based programming: nodes for bitmaps, numbers, strings, lists, and more.
- Generative AI: create images from text using Stable Diffusion AI.
- Image-to-Image AI: create images from other images using AI -- effects on steroids!
- Space monkeys! (Did we mention the text-to-image AI node?)

I use FF with AI creating an image then use FF for further enhancing so to use AI in FF will be interesting. So I have lots of prompts to try. smile;)
Not to mention all the other things it is going to be a busy year. I have submitted my email... smile:) smile:beer:

This seriously looks like everything I've ever wanted FF to be and more! Any idea of how much this will cost once it's out?

This looks a lot like Max MSP / Pure Data, but for images... plus the addition of AI tools, which is super exciting! I can't wait to try it out, personally.

I was also going to ask about GLSL scripting but I see now that it's on the roadmap smile8) . This is going to be some groovy software

Awesome! Congrats on the upcoming beta release!

Nice move to include the AI tools. I'm assuming Stable Diffusion will be ran locally? How does the tile based memory management work inside Stable Diffusion btw? Any plans to add AI upscaling?

Would be funny to also include image-to-text node for procedural string generation smile:D

Very cool stuff, and the roadmap looks great!

This is SO getting cancelled.

Would be nice to have, though.

We haven't decided on the cost and editions yet. That's still an open question.

Yep, it's on the roadmap, but I definitely wouldn't expect it in Version 1.

Yes, Stable Diffusion will be hosted locally.

It won't smile:) Stable Diffusion will output an entire bitmap. Thankfully, the image sizes in Stable Diffusion are usually not very large. Upscaling, however, is another story. I hope that we will be able to run at least some upscaling algorithms in a tile-based way -- but I wouldn't count on that.

Absolutely.

Haha, we toyed with the idea. Our type system and execution engile would allow that, but this is definitely not on the list of priority features at the moment. I still have no idea which model would be suitable for that.

Remember to have mercy on those of us who upgraded to life-time FF Studio only a year ago! smile:)

I wouldn't call it a version -- it will be a different product. The basis is similar (image processing via nodes), but there will be quite a lot of differences.

I have never been much interested in AI image processing until now. also think about adding video manipulation with this software, that would be great! I hope to be chosen for the beta, if you can convince skeptical people like me you have a HIT and a gold mine in hand!

As it was told in other places in the forum, Ultraforge will NOT be a replacement of Filter Forge and will not be ending the Develop of FF, so I think that as the name of this thread tells that Ultraforge is the successor it may be possible that it may confuse things as it will more a brother or sister of FF and be Complementary and not a successor

I think that from my point of view I recommend and suggest that this thread becomes a sticky at the top so people wil see it first and will be able to read the whole newly created web page www.filterforge.com/ultraforge/ that explains what Ultraforge is about and so it may avoid asking things that may be already covered there

Well well well, what an exciting and interesting development. Been using FilterForge for all this time and damn we now have something fresh to look at.

Hoping it'll do well smile:) Happy to beta test.
