One thing that has stopped me from trying Stable Diffusion locally on my computer is that I don't use a dedicated GPU, only the integrated graphics that came with my Macbook, so I wonder if Ultraforge will require a dedicated GPU, and what other technical requirements will it have.

I also understand that, so far, using Stable Diffusion locally is not "plug and play", but it requires some expertise for the initial setup, I hope Ultraforge setup is not too complicated once it's available. Finally, I know the beta is Windows only for now, but I'd like to know if you have any plans/roadmap for a Mac version. Thanks, and best of lucks with this project! Luis Valoyes

Yep, the current interfaces for SD aren't exactly user-friendly. We want to alleviate this in UF -- we want UF to be a normal desktop app, such as Blender, which you install and use right away.

Yes, if you want to work with SD and our own GPU-based nodes, you'll need a dedicated GPU. For Stable Diffusion a safe bet would be GeForce RTX 2060 with 8GB or VRAM. For our own Vulkan-based nodes the required hardware level is much less strict -- I think something like GeForce 1030 will do just fine. |
