Minimum Specs Once UF Supports SDXL

With the decline in the production of SD1.0 to SD2.5 models and the rapid acceleration of SDXL model and SDXL LORA creation, please take a quick look at the information I'm about to share before making a purchase just to end up seeking a refund, as doing so negatively impacts the company. I've seen a ton of refunds partly because the compatibility checker is set too low IMO and people not understanding how GPU intensive Stable Diffusion, especially XL actually is.

I'll keep it brief as I can, but a max SDXL setup is complex, requires a higher end hardware and once UF supports SDXL, you'll want at least the following. PCI4 motherboard(RTX 3060+ bottlenecks PCI3 lanes), i7 or i9 with 8c/16t | 5.2GHz - 5.5GHz OC CPU, 64GB RAM(32GB minimum), 1TB Gen 4x4 M.2 Storage, and a 24GB RTX 3090, the most crucial hardware. Running SDXL, SDXL Refiner, and a SDXL LORA will consume approximately 14GB VRAM from the models alone. These components are fully compatible with Stable Diffusion 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, XL 0.9, and XL 1.0

The good news is that you can find a used RTX 3090 Founders Edition for around $500 on eBay

If your card is 4GB+ you're fine. A 4GB (6GB recommend) GPU will work with almost any SD configuration no problem, SDXL itself needs at least an 8GB GPU, SDXL + LORAs on 11GB/12GB RTX cards and SDXL with anything on a 16GB card as long as your base VRAM usage is low, which is why a 24GB card is best.

I wouldn't go with 16GB cards, they cost nearly twice as much as a used 24GB RTX 3090FE ($500 - $600) and even cheaper options exist, you can get a used 24GB Tesla P40 dirt cheap ($180 - $250) and run SDXL just fine albeit slowish by today's standard but still decent rendering speed, especially with SDXL Turbo. SDXL Turbo renders images fast as you can type on a 3090.
