filter forge 4

Hi..
I have filter forge 4[4.015] I got it via 'give away of the day' .
It downloaded filters for a while after I installed it
but now says I have to upgrade to a newer version to download filters
even filters rated at 1.0 2.0 and 3.0.
Was that part of the plan?
I understand if this is designed to make me pay to upgrade but if there is no need for me to pay anything and continue downloading filters designed for use below version 5 with my version then i'd like to do that just now.
I read on another thread someone had this problem but he had 4.0 and upgrading to 4.015 free of charge solved his problem.
Frightened if there is an update out there for 4.015 and I do try to upgrade, it will kill my version as there are often update restrictions for GAOTD versions of progs.
