I have seen that sometimes there are some forum users that want and need some help or search for answers for some topic but the title of the thread is not clear enough and does not show what you may want and get the attention for answers and so you may be able to get probably better and faster answers.

These are my personal things that I think are important specially for new users, and is not something from FF company, and the moderator GMM is free to delete, modify or add anything here.
Also anyone is free to add here any additional points may think is important and relevant.

Some years ago I made BEFORE Posting an error downloading FF filters PLEASE see this thread

Now I wanted to help to get you help for other different topics so below are 3 Topics to help make better threads and posts

1 - WRITING THE TOPIC OF THE SUBJECT
2 - INFORMATION TO ADD IN THE POST
3 - FORUM CATEGORIES
4 - BEHAVIOUR IN THE FORUM.

It is good that before deciding to make a new thread, please search in the forum if there may be a possible answer already available in the forum, so then you would not need to wait for an answer.
Also you can visit the Filter Forge Wiki pages

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 - WRITING THE TOPIC OF THE SUBJECT OF THE THREAD TITLE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please post a descriptive topic name! Give a short summary of your problem, suggestion or reason in the subject

Does the title sound interesting if you read it out loud? Is it a good summary?

Who would be interested in this? Why does it matter? What kind of responses do you want?

Include commonly used words in your topic so others can find it. To group your topic with related topics, sel ect a category (or tag).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 - INFORMATION TO ADD IN THE POST
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.1 Is very important to Include all the needed information for other to be able to make a possible answer, as for example tell what Filter Forge (FF) version you are using, if you are using Windows or Mac and what version, and if it is relevant the computer specifications you may have

If the problem is with a filter, it would be good to put a link to the filter from the library you want to get help, or upload your own filter if it is possible.

If it is relevant and needed, is also much recommended to upload one or more screenshots that could help to show the topic and help to answer better

2 .2 Be able to reproduce it. Be aware that if this a topic about a bug or problem, you may need to give the steps to be able to reproduce it in another computer, so any forum user or the FF team may be able to find what may be wrong and tell what you are exactly doing and how, and when does the error or bug happens

2 .3 Remain respectful of other members at all times
All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective.

However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community. It does not matter what title or power you hold in these forums, you are expected to obey this rule.

2.4 Remember when people help you, they are doing you a favor
Be patient, help people out by posting good descriptions of what you need help with. Do not harass or bug someone to help you because anyone is free to help or not. Be polite and make that they want to help you.

2.5 Do not post “offensive” posts, links or images
Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. This includes user pictures. Use common sense while posting.
This is a forum for accountancy professionals.

2.6 No Spam or Advertising
These forums define spam as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites, or posts with little, or completely unrelated content to these FF forums

2.7 Do not post in all caps.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 - FORUM CATEGORIES.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3 .1 Please, put the thread in the right and corresponding forum category that it may belong as it will be easier to find and get help and so it will keep a clean forum.

3.2 Do not cross post questions
Please refrain fr om posting the same question in several forums. There is normally one forum which is most suitable in which to post your question.

3.3 Search in the forum if there may be available a recent similar topic thread already open but that is does not have too much time since the last post, as it would be better then to open a new thread.

3.4 Do not bump threads that are very old without a very good reason to do it, as it would be better to make a new one and make a reference to this other old thread.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 - BEHAVIOUR IN THE FORUM.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion
Please treat this discussion forum with the same respect you would a public place. A place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion
Help to make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree
You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people.
Do no keep responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation, and constructive critics that may help

Always Be Civil Nothing sabotages a healthy conversation like rudeness
Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.
Respect each other. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information
