I came back to FF a couple months ago, after a long break, to find I had four HU filters! Yay! *happy kitty dance*
My dilemma now, is, how to use them? I had thought of waiting for a fifth and getting free upgrades for life, but since the next version is stretching further and further into the future, I thought perhaps I should just take three of the points and upgrade to Professional and hope that I get four more points someday. As for the Prof. version, I'm not sure what use I'll get out of the various maps and high-precision file formats, but being able to use FF with larger files would be great, and the thought of FF using my quad-core to greatest efficiency frankly makes me drool. Whatcha all think? ![]() Kat

There can only be one recommendation: Go Pro!

i'm a cheap old bastid, but i can tell you when it comes to a program like FF, i'd always be drooling over that one feature i didnt have in a lesser version than Pro. it's like if you bought photoshop 7 while CS3 was available for a few pennies more. i'd alway sbe regretting those missing features
on the other hand, it might be smart move to get the five and wait for version II to come out, or buy a mac and get the mac version when it comes out. but, with your skills in FF, it would probably just be moot. you'd probably already have enough HU's for both If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hmmm, seems as if the results are unanimous. I confess that I was leaning this way, but it's nice to hear -- from skilled and experienced FFers -- that I am not being an idiot. Carl and Kraellin -- thanks for the encouragement, too! I really love making filters, so it's nice to get some personal positive feedback. ^___^ On to Pro! ![]() Kat

There's no point in getting a Mac to run FF if you have comparably-performant PC
Especially now that is much easier to compare a Mac performance to a PC since they use essentially the same hardware |

----You havta have FF to get the lifetime updates, so it's not an either or, it's first get FF, then you need 5 additional HU's to get the lifetime updates from what I understand. Jeff Filter Forger |
