Can somebody please point me to a basic "Getting Started" guide

I am a new user of Photoshop and found the Filter Forge.
I bought the basic package, and downloaded the 30 day starter to get me going right away.

Now - since this is the first time I have ever used a Plug In for PS, what next? I cannot seem to find Filter Forge under the list of filters in PS.

Sorry for the profound cluelessness of this query - but everybody has to start somewhere..

Hi KC4,
if its not showing up try this - open file location for FF and you'll see a folder called Plugin > copy and open your PS file location and there is a folder for plugins, simple paste in the folder. It now will show up in your filter list. Have fun smile:)

Hey Carl,
Thanks for the help. FF seems to be showing up under PS Plug ins now.

So my next step was to try and download a filter from Filterforge.com...

I picked your Angelwash one...but when I clicked on the download button I got:

"Safari can’t open the specified address.
Safari can’t open “filterforge://open-6831” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “filterforge:”."

NOW WHAT am I missing???

A mac user might be able to answer that, sounds like it needs permission in your settings somewhere. See whether this at least allows you access to the filters - click Tools > Options > Online and under "Download more filters" check the "Use the built-in Library" - ok it and now when you click on the "Download more filters" on gui it will open to the old way of downloading. smile:)

Missed this thread, sorry.

Whats missing is that Safari hasn't got the mapinfo to map filterforge:// URLs -> FilterForge. I think mapping is created when you first launch FilterForge.app.
