Hello all,
I'm currently using the trial of FF to see if it fits my needs. What I'm looking to do is to be able to take photos, 2d art and 3d art and via FF, transform them into a comic look. I've been using the "comic book" filter and messing with the various settings. It really does add value to the image however I'm not quite getting the full "drawn" effect. I'm sure I'll need to use various filters on various layers, but being new to FF and not the best Photoshop person around, I'm not sure how to go about this. I was wondering if anyone has an already created process they use for making a drawncomic style and if they were willing to share their steps? Thanks and Regards, --Eryk |

Hi Eryk,
You might post some samples: What are you trying to get it to look like? What are you trying to start with? IIRC there are some excellent tutorials for how to make a convincing comic book effect using Poser or Daz studio. (You can do the same technique w/ other software, though.) Essentially, you make custom materials which look like they're cell shaded. |

Howdy Corvus,
I do have Poser and Daz studio - but mostly I'm hoping to take photographs and turn them into cartoon backgrounds. I'd also like to be able to turn them into "coloring book" images (I did find a photoshop tutorial on that. So far it seems to do an okay job.). If possible, I'd like to be able to take a normal photo of, say, a field with a mountian behind it or a city street with people and cars on it, and make it so that it fits with my characters, which are simplistic drawings such as the one I've attached.  |

Thanks Uglyboys, but I'm not so sure that will work on photos. I'm going to reinstall Poser and give it a try though.
