What I am looking for, and hopefully it is possible with FF...
I am running FF 3 Professional I have all of the knitting filters installed Currently, filters for knitting either have the pattern presets already in the filter, or, filters such as "knit this print" adds a knit pattern overlay to a pattern/picture. But, what I want is a filter that takes a picture or a knitting pattern graph and actually changes the graph into the knit "V" (stocking stitch) stitches so that it looks realistic. If this is not possible with FF, does anyone know of a program that can do it? I want to make realistic /digital knits for papers ![]() ![]() ![]() |

EDITED: I have seen that there is a new "knitting" filter that maybe could be what you want, if you modify the shape source of the filter to the one you want instead of the cross
Cross-stitch by Kochubey ![]() --------------------------------------------------- There are available in the library some filters that will make knitting filters that are shown in this filter forge search
Are you sure that you have all the filters that can make some knitting as shown in the above link? If yes, what is wrong with them? ![]() From the example you have shown, I think that what you want is that the image is converted using solid colors over each one of knots and not just using an overlay of the image over the knitting texture, so the image colors should fill only the knot part with only ONE color from the source image. Well I do not know if this could be possible but maybe would be tricky to do it. Maybe it would be better to use a specific knitting software that are many available on the internet, some called Knitware Design Programs |

SpaceRay,
There is nothing wrong with the knitting filters on your download link, and there are a few that I use fairly regularly. As stated in my original post, none "distort" your image to look like knit stitches. ie: a horizontal line put through say "knit this" will still appear as a straight line with knit stitches as an overlay. If you were to knit a single horizontal line in real life, it would actually appear as a zig-zag; that is the effect I am searching for. |
