Some of you are already familiar with the online world of Second Life. I work for the makers, Linden Lab, and on my own time, have been watching community activities like the thriving Flickr: Second Life group, now with 1,400+ members and quality increasing with various post-production techniques. (Look at some of those modeling shots, I sense future coffee table books!) Much ado about Photoshop, eh?
Well, sounds to me like a conductive opportunity to "bring worlds closer", so I just posted about using Filter Forge with Second Life snapshots in hopes of attracting more interest for those who're looking for such a versatile tool but haven't found it yet, and those who'd go, "OMG! I gotta check this out, hot diggity dang!" Gotta nourish your creative soul, right? Anyways, just wanted to give a heads-up, and greetz to anyone who's on "both sides"! I'm a longtime advocate of user-created content (I'm also a member of other nice communities like Clipmarks), and I believe to put Filter Forge + Second Life (all the opportunities for texturing inworld too!) together is a lovely, potent, synergistic match. Cool stuff. I've got to get my "first life" in order first, but second life looks interesting and I'm sure FF can add a whole new dimension.
