hi bella,
just to see what was in this 'freepack', i downloaded it and installed it. nice selection of 'metals'! but, one question here, after installing, i could not find it in my psp xi 'effects'. FF proper is there, but nothing about a freepack. the .8bf and accompanying files are all in my corel/plugins folder, so that part is right, but it doesnt show up in psp. is this because i already have FF installed? does FF proper simply override the freepack because i already have all those filters? FF proper is in the same filder in psp as the freepack, so i know psp shld be able to see it. it's pointed to the plugin folder and shld see all sub-folders as well, but it just doesnt show up in psp and FF does. it's no biggie, of course. i have all those filters, but just seems like a plugin shld show up when it's installed. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Hey FF team, thanks for the free pack. Great stuff.
As you guys have added in the downloads page: "All filters included in the freepacks are also available from the Filter Library". I'd like to leave a suggestion/comment: I think that the freepacks should be a kind of surprise for all. So, the filters/textures in the freepack shouldn't be also in the library. 1st because sometimes we don't want some filters that are already in the library and they can come in the freepack. 2nd, it's much more pleasant to get a surprise. Wow, what will come in the freepack that we haven't seen yet?!?!?! So, maybe the freepacks should be only filters/textures made by the FF team that aren't in the library or FF would invite their users to create a filter/texture for the wished theme (or even out of the theme to keep for next freepacks) and members should send the filters/textures trhough e-mail and they can't send the files to the library. So, after that FF woud pick some filters/textures and create the "surprised" final freepack. Maybe the member would earn a point if its filter/texture was chosen to be added in the freepack or if FF will keep for a future freepack. If it isn't picked from FF team, FF would send back an e-email informing the member that he/she can send it to the library because wasn't accepted for the freepack. Well, something like that. Just a suggestion. What do you think guys? A hug. |

Kraellin,
The freepack not showing in the Effects menu in PSP if Big FF is installed turned out to be a bug. We'll fix that as soon as possible and will upload the new version of the freepack on the website. Meanwhile, here's how you can fix the version you have already downloaded: 1) Close Paint Shop Pro. 2) Go to the following location on your computer: "C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI\PlugIns\Filter Forge Freepack 1 - Metals". 3) Rename the files "Filter Forge.8bf" and "Filter Forge.8bf.fpo" to anything. For example: "1Filter Forge.8bf" and "1Filter Forge.8bf.fpo" respectively. 4) Run Paint Shop Pro. You should now see the freepack in the Effects menu along with the Big Filter Forge. |

We have uploaded a new build of the Freepack that fixes the problem:
http://www.filterforge.com/download/ The Freepack now shows correctly in all supported versions of PSP. No manual renaming is needed. |
