Hi everybody.
I've just joined this forum. Only two days ago I downloaded FF and this weekend I'm successfully using it with some picture. The program runs well and the graphic resolution of the filters is very good, much better than other programs I tried before. I'm thinking to buy it for my office. The only problem I found was that there is no way to download many filters as a collection or a large zip file. There are over 5000 filter. In the beginning I thought "Wooow!" and I began choosing them. But there are so many that choosing the most useful ones and downloading them one by one becomes a hard job. If you guys use FF only as hobby, then it's ok. But I'm thinking to use it for my job, and spending hours downloading 2000-3000 filters is probably not my dream. Also because I'm not sure if the filters I took will fit or not. I may have to go back to the site again to pick what I didn't choose before. I suppose that this choice is for copyright reasons. Nobody can download the filters without having a FF copy running. But, if I'm right, that the filters can be used only in FF, then there is no reason to fear. Even the first 5000 were collected in a big zip or rar file, nobody could use them anyway without having a registered version of FF. Right? It would be nice if the top filters were collected in one or more zip files. Who still desires to choose them one by one could do, and who instead prefers to have many filters immediately available, could download the zip file. What do you think? |

Yes, it would be a good idea.
The only problem I can see is in how setting the popularity of some filter if they are all downloaded as a zip file. But the downloading of the files as a zip could be kept out of the count. There is also another thing to consider. The filters are becoming so many that nobody has time to watch them all with enough attention. Somebody is probably watching the first and then, bit by bit, they get tired and they just push the download button. So... it could become more interesting if the filter were really divided in two parts: old and new. The older ones could be downloaded both as zip and single filters, instead the new ones should be downloaded only singularly. This would allow to have a better idea of the popularity of the new filters. Having less filters to watch, the users would probably put more attention in choosing them. |

You can always use the old built in browser for downloading a large number of filters at once.... http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...essage5158 Stupid things happen to computers for stupid reasons at stupid times! |
