I can't seem to save the lipstick kiss filter with a transparent background, a neccessity when you just want one on a small portion of the picture. When I tried using an alpha, it just came out really strange: not like what it looked like in filter forge, and not transparent. I've tried using all the formats that basic alows me. I can't afford pro. Any work arounds or ideas? I'm a new filter forge user, and I really need it with a transparent background...

It might, but basic says I have to upgrade before using png. smile:cry:
::Edit:: It works on the lowest resolution of png. Thanks! You rock.

Excellent!
You mean 8 bit? You probably don't need 16 bit color accuracy.

Basic and Standard editions are restricted to the 8-bit mode and resolutions up to 3000x3000. There are no restrictions on graphic formats, except the high-precision ones.

His 16-bit PNG won't save files correctly, even though he has the pro-version.
Roses are #FF0000
Violets are #0000FF

No it's not critical smile;)
I don't usual save png, I use FF as the plugin in PS CS4 usually as a layer as part of the final result and have no problem with transperancy within layers. As quietbianca was having trouble with Lipstick Kiss I though I'd test it out [ in Standalone ] saving as a png 16 bit with the transparent B/g ticked, including trying all three compression rates, the results were all non transparent with the LP default showing [ per - example below ]. Can you guys with the pro test it out and see if it works smile:)

Carl, Betis and everyone who is unsure how transparency works in Filter Forge: please review this help article.

The last section applies to what we're talking about here. The lipstick filter will be always blended with the image it is applied to, and the blending result will be saved in whatever format you specify. If the filter had an Image component within this would work another way.

Ah ok thanks GMM that makes perfect sense, it was an assumption that what you see is what you get - now I'll just go back to using it as a plugin on layers LOL smile:)
