Virtually had no problems w/ earlier versions - so when FF7 repeatedly caused my CS2018 to lock up and crash [ and all unsaved work lost ] I began to use FF 5 almost exclusively. But this weekend a filter I wanted to use required FF7 so relaunched FF using FF7 this time.
Not only did it not work again [ and I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF7 a few times with no change to its performance ] now FF5 doesn't work either -
The problem is worse than before - now not only does it cause CS2018 to crash, but even when I relaunch CS2018 neither FF5 or FF7 work. Again I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF7 and now when I try to re-install, I get the error msg that FF is operating, and asks me to close all FF applications. Doing a CNTRL ALT DEL to see what programs are running, FF isn't shown.
The only work around is to close down WIN and reboot, but still FF7 won't re-install.

I use FF on almost a daily basis and it is now part of my workflow so am desperate for a fix. Please help.

BTW - I have 30+ yrs. of working as system analyst, so though not a 'pro' I am not an amateur either.

Thanks in advance for helping me solve this problem - and yes, I have the latest version of CS2018 with all updates.

 Desperate and hopeful,

CTRL+ALT+DEL? Unless you're using Windows 98 you should press Ctrl+Shift+Esc instead.

If Filter Forge says it is running this means either you have started in manually, or another program, like a virus, has started it in the background. You can check the list of running processes in Task Manager on the Details tab (not on the Processes tab).

For whatever reason, the third or fourth time I uninstalled and reinstalled this time around FF is working beautifully - did the same thing as before and it worked, and did check the TASK MANAGER and it wasn't showing FF running in background - just the wonderment of software I guess - thanks for the reply --- now afraid to try it again though it has been working wonderfully for past few days - I do use a virus protector [ BITDEFENDER] and it seems to catch errant actions.

I have also found in past, when I want to use more than one filters FF ALWAYS locks up - so have just duplicated the file, flattened the layers add an adjustment layer, [ CS2018] and added the next filter -

Should this be happening using multiple filters ??? - anyway my workaround works so I am ALWAYS carefully to save my work before accessing FF
