I dont know if its because Im running ff off a thumb drive using parallels or not but ocassionaly of late I will make a filter that in editor view renders fast but when i close the editor the preview window either never renders it or takes 5-10 minutes ???? any Ideas what could be causing this?
Thanks for any help if you need additional info please let me know beyond toilet flush several of the ones I submitted yester day respond similarly Today I was putting the final polish on my matrix code filter and it refuses to render it --no errors just nothing yet in editor view the result renders fine I even waited 45min to see if it was just being sluggins but it isnt that lets all whine for a wine port |

This is the file in question I realize its quite large and complex but after 45 min you would atleast think it would start rendering
considering all the component windows will update with a reasonable time frame includeing result Im just at a loss I have had filters way larger with far more demanding components that rendered faster again thanks The matrix n1v.ffxml lets all whine for a wine port |

okay this is weird I deleted the resume file and rebooted the vm and it works now but it waits 3-5 min before it starts rendering and then it zips right through it --looks like its a vm related error instead of ff

it's not you or your machine, volde. it's the filter. there are at least 32, 5 color gradients in there. i also think i counted 4 tiles components, a TON of offsets and profile gradients, blends and others. it's a HUGE filter. it took over 5 minutes for me to see the first block of results and over 12 minutes to finish and i cut it short before it did and opened the editor on it.

and by the way to the filter maker on this one, 30 of those 5 color gradients can be removed and not lose a single function or effect in the filter.
