Earlier today I got an error message. I pushed the button to generate an error report but nothing seemed to happen, except a second error window opened up at the same time. (I wonder now if I had the filter version and full version open at the same time.) I tried to copy the second error message but my computer seemed frozen. I was able to hit ctrl-alt-del and get out of this, but I was not able to save the error messages.
Later in the day I got another error. When I tried to generate a report, it said something about the browser not working. Then my computer frooze. I remember, though, that the error said something about not enough resources. And later still, same thing. But this time I was able to copy some errors. Failed to create event (event 0011B5B4). Failed to close event handle (event 0011B1C8).Failed to close event handle (event 00117834). It looked like these types of message would just keep coming, so I used ctrl-alt-del to try to get out. When I did it said: Could not complete the Filter Forge command because of a problem with the filter module interface. All errors happened while trying to cancel out of the filter editor. I remember something similar from the beta. This problem seemed to come out of nowhere, except I wonder if I was running the plugin and standalone at the same time. BTW, during the last crash I had, the filter I was working on was damaged. The next time I tried to Filter Forge it tried to load that file by default. I got a message saying it was not a valid format. |

Thanks, CFandM. Mine seems different. It is all around hitting Cancel.
Anyway, I rebooted my computer and I'm not having the problem anymore. I'm going to assume that this was a fluke, unless it starts again. |

I just had this same error and got the invalid format error as well. It seems to have deleted everything that was in the filter doc as it is now a 0kb doc. Very disappointing. Many hours of work lost. Does this happen often?

No, but enough in every program that it is good habit to save your work as you go. |

The bug with the event handles is very hard to catch, so we'll add auto-save to the Filter Editor in future updates. |

Reffering to the post found here http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...essage3510
I am not a registered "beta tester" but I have suggested the auto-save feature http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...9&TID=2988, does that mean I get FF for free, I mean you did say that "these conditions aren't rigid, and can be expanded to included other situations... ![]() ![]() I am just joking; but really now... do I? ![]() ![]() |
