Can anyone tell me if there is a way to lock a single slider value without leaving a dead slider control???

You need to be a little more specific here as to what it is you are trying to achieve.

First of all, are you talking about slider control components (inside the Filter Editor) or the control sliders of a filter (on the main UI)? And what exactly do you mean by a 'dead slider'?

Hi Crapadilla, thanx for responding smile:)

I would like to set the 'mode' parameter of 'Blend 1.003' to a locked single value without a dead Slider control in settings....

I have also encountered this problem in setting other componets.... ie....setting 'Blur/radius' to a specific locked value without a dead slider control in settings....

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this....

Any info is greatly appreciated

Just delete the slider that is connected to that Blend components' 'Mode' input and set this parameter manually on the component itself. Since the slider itself has been deleted now, the respective control slider under 'Settings' is gone with it. Thus no more 'dead' slider.

BTW StevieJ, you shouldn't be using any components with version numbers in their names. Those are "legacy" components that have been superseded by newer version.

Crappadilla.... Man, I can't believe that I did not figure that one out. I thought 'opacity' and 'mode' were two differnt animals....I was misled by both having plugs. I'm catching on slowly but surely.....thanx, that puts an end to alot of roadblocks....

Uberzev, I do not understand??? I thought is was permissable to customize any filter on here for personal use so long as you don't try to resubmit it as your own....

Yeah its fine you can do anything you want. I'm just suggesting that if you want your filter to be as efficient/up-to-date as possible you should only use non-obsolete components.

Now of couse you may download a filter that does use obsolete components. Therefore they are already there when you start expirimenting. That's totally fine. I'm just suggesting that if you make an official submission its best to have everything updated.
